If it's not acceptable they will hold it in dollars, I am not sure for how long, because it has always been acceptable to me. I can only speak for the bank I use (Chase), and they charge $45. It used to be free with the type of account I had, but when Chase took them over, that stopped. I also quit getting my safe deposit dox free.
