  1. Well, that certainly qualifies him to be President, him all being on TV and whatnot.
  2. For every "typical Irish/English/American/Sports pub" there are probably 500 restaurants where the staff make next to nothing on tips. Again, I thought we were talking about typical restaurant wait-staff, which you claimed make 25K. Six two-hour massages day, six days a week? I thought we were talking about typical situations, not about busy tourist shops. Again, for every massage joint in a busy tourist area, there are 500 normal shops.
  3. I said: "Service is usually good, and meals generally come out at the same time in the US." You responded with: "From my experience they just bring food when it's ready without trying to serve the whole table together. Often someone is sitting there 10 mins (maybe longer) without food while others eat." The service in Thailand does not compare.
  4. Just give it to your niece and be done with it.
  5. Drag it to the curb and put gratis sign on it. If that doesn't work, put a $50 sign on it and someone will steal it.
  6. I got in stuck in the US for about five months with covid. Took my wife and boy, they got out and I didn't. stayed at a Hampton Inn in Norco, CA. I had a bunch of crap stored at a buddy's house. He was remodeling so I sold almost all of it on eBay, and netted about $7K while I was there...
  7. I doubt very much typical wait-staff in Bangkok are making 25K a month with tips. Perhaps at high end or very busy tourist places, but that is certainly not the rule. Happy-ending massage joints sure, but I thought we were talking about restaurants. How many customers a day does the average massage gal get? Minimum wage for a full-time employee in Bangkok is B11,160++. In the US? No, that is absolutely not typical. You said: "I understand the concept of wanting to tip, but being socially expected to do it is just dumb.". When I asked why, you answered: "Why should society expect you to pay more regardless of service standards?" which does not answer the question. The whole concept of tipping is to reward good service. Tipping the same regardless of the quality of the service is stupid. That there are weak people that feel obliged to leave something regardless of the quality of service is ruining the whole concept. And no, it is not common that restaurants in the US compel tipping, but many do when you have a large group. Again, this ruins the whole concept. I feel no shame when I am poorly served and leave no tip, nor do I look down on people that don't tip. People that tip poor service are stupid, and it's not fair to the hardworking staff the provide good service.
  8. It is getting out of hand in the US
  9. Right Waitresses here make 25K? Service is usually good, and meals generally come out at the same time in the US. I wonder why that is? Why?
  10. You were in high school in the '40s & '50s?
  11. You claimed owners in the US don't pay proper wages, yet you have no idea what proper wagers are. You must be a leftist, yes?
  12. What are proper wages for wait-staff?
  13. Not from the US huh?
  14. That it's considered rude not to, does not make it mandatory. A fair percentage of people in the US do not tip. Tipping all service the same is insulting to competent staff.
  15. I'm from the US and have worked over much the country, and tipping is generally not mandatory, unless you have a large group.
  16. The left does not care about this piece of human debris, they are only using him to attack Trump, stir up hate and discontent and frighten people. That's why the left is so dependent on deceit, if they were truthful, they'd have no power at all.
  17. He can be deported to El Salvador if the threat to him no longer exists, which (as I understand it) does not. We do not know that he did not get due process, we only know what is reported. Indeed I don't think that "Refugees and asylum seekers who have valid claims upheld by a judge..." are in the country illegally. As I said. Will he be able to clear his name that he is in the county illegally? He would not be tried as a criminal, if he were, he would be entitled to the same due process as a citizen. He has no right to "clear his name". That ship has sailed. In immigration court, the burden of proof is on him to show he has legal status.
  18. If he is in the country illegally, and cannot show a judge otherwise, he can be deported.
  19. As an illegal alien, his due process is extremely limited. The court determined he was a gang member and ordered him deported. Bring him back. Unless he can show that he has legal status, even if brought back he can just be deported again. The left loves them some wife-beating gang-bangers.
  20. The headline is just a lie. She did not say he would not be returned. She said that if/when he was returned, he would be re-deported. T
  21. Where are Nixon and Ford?
