  1. Disappointed too many times to buy beef again in Thailand. Great pork, great seafood, great chicken, all pretty cheap. Beef, ham, bacon, sausage? Not so much.
  2. AutoShow coming up at the end of the month.... Decent discounts and look at everything in one place. For the Toyota fans, I think the gen-three Fortuner may debut as well as the new Land Cruiser and Crown.
  3. Try another vendor? At least 20 in stock and B25 delivery.
  4. I've purchased six new cars here from four different dealerships and they were all happy to take cash.
  5. In any event you're on the side of the road....

  7. While I agree the 5-10k fair, the dealer really does not stand to lose much is anything. The cars are not really special orders, and with lead-times there are almost always people ready to take early delivery. I don't think there are any real factory-fitted modifications. The stuff you pick from the "accessories" sheet are typically all dealer installed options (DIO)
  8. Whether or not one would get caught is not the same as not qualifying. If I were filing claims over and over in a foreign country while claiming US residency getting caught would not surprise me. The question is what would the penalty be? We get plenty of benefits we don't pay for. I do not believe I can use my Thai SS medical anywhere but Thailand. They didn't tell us to move...
  9. I can't speak to other Westen countries, but labor assembling windows in the US is surely less than 10% of cost. Installation costs in the US are probably 10-20 times as much as in Thailand.
  10. Compared to the initial investment of double-paned vs single-paned windows of a similar quality, the savings is not as great as one might think, particularly in hot climates. Most comparisons compare old leaky clear windows with new double-paned tinted windows. Double (or better triple) paned windows are good for noise reduction, particularly when glasses of different thicknesses are used.
  11. Why would you expect them to be significantly cheaper in Thailand than the west?
  12. Hello Sheryl, I started Medicare last year, how would I go about using it in the US in the event I had to? Do I have to be signed up somewhere or can I just walk it?
  13. My experience is the same as yours pricewise. I did have a dentist in the US try to sell me a four-visit deep-scaling once. They use Novocain and do one quadrant at a time.
  14. To confirm your order.
  15. So if I lie about my address I might be able to cheat and get Mediscare to cover me in Thailand? Can anyone verify this?
  16. I use my Thai address for SS but get the deposits to my US account. US address for US accounts and whatnot I get a few pieces of mail a year I guess, more now with Mediscare

  20. The stuff I have ordered from Amazon has all arrived without issue. They charge their maximum estimate for duty, and you sometimes get a partial refund, occasionally significant. My last computer I bought from B & H and had it delivered here. They are cheaper for a lot of stuff, faster, and nicer to deal with.
  21. There are certainly a lot more of them these days, yes?
