  1. I have used American health care any number of times with no insurance, and it has been great.
  2. Or you could buy a test kit, then you'll know.
  3. I booked a couple rooms at Novotel Impact for the upcoming auto-show and it was cheaper using the Accor site than Agota.
  4. I just (few months ago) ordered a new Intel NUC an SSD and RAM from B & H in the US and I think I did okay price wise. Paid all the tax and duty up-front so not surprises. Got it in like three days too. Dell is a rip-off in Thailand as they target western companies that mandate their offices use Dell. I know that's how we got stuck with them.
  5. I've seen it. Newer places are all wired, they just come in, turn it on, plug in your box.
  6. I generally book directly with the hotels and almost never see any significant savings over using the agents. I sometimes see that booking with the hotel is cheaper, and occasionally significantly cheaper.
  7. My last visit to the urologist with bloodwork and a bladder scan was less than THB500 all in. Saw the podiatrist a few weeks ago, prescription for new insoles, calloses removed, toenails trimmed (including an in-grown cut back) and a three-month supply of foot ointment ~ THB700 Had a tooth x-rayed the other day, THB120
  8. I wished I wore 11s... There is a leather shop on the left-hand side or the soi going from Sukumvitt to Bumrungrad. Not the Nana side, but the one that runs along the exit ramp at the "Soi Zero" Bridge. They will make custom shoes at a reasonable price, but it's been years since I've used them. I ususally get shoes when I go to the US, but being stuck here for so long due to the covid debacle I ended up just ordering from Amazon in the US and having them delivered. Easy-peasey...
  9. I'm sorry, my reply was not meant to be cynical, it was meant to be helpful. Yes, but not many, and I did not understand that to be your situation. I was in a wheel chair for a year and on crutches for another two, why would you be embarrassed? Do you think people (not at the airport!) would think you were faking? I don't know what your financial situation is, or where you live, but Thailand seems like a pretty good place to be in a wheelchair to me, particularly if you have wife to push you around. Assuming you're not skint, don't buy a sh*t-grade wheelchair. Buy something lightweight and decent.
  10. Just buy the cheapest one, they are usually all the same anyway.
  11. If I were someone that "...not so long ago could climb a mountain..." and now I was unable to leave the house due to shortness of breath I would see a doctor and try to figure out what's wrong.
  12. Before one's account will be frozen, there will have to be proof of wrongdoing,
  13. In what country?
  14. If once account could be frozen just because someone reports a scam, everyone's accounts would be frozen. Something would likely have to be proven....
  15. So are you going to buy one?
  16. A lot of places you can't go with more than two axles.
  17. I looked that the Veloz and thought it was okay, my boy doesn't like it. I think it is the new Avanza and it's produced by Daihatsu. The Auto show is the end of this month, go walk it and see what you like. If the gen 3 Fortuner is there, I may get one and let the kid drive the old one. Forth gen Suzuki Swift might show, if so, I may get him that...
  18. Logically, if a vehicle is not taxed each year, when new registration is required, unpaid taxes are due. Did you file the appropriate paperwork twelve years ago stating it would not be used on the road?
  19. What do you call a vegan that doesn't put out? You don't
  20. What about it did you not understand?
  21. Well, just to follow-up, I ended up getting the implant at Bangkok Hospital Dental Center (BHDC) and it's been great. It was the Straumann implant with a "Roxolid SLA Active" crown. It was interesting that they did not do an impression for the crown but scanned my mouth and (I think) they 3D modeled the crown, or the mold for the crown. In any event, it fit perfectly from day one. It probably took six months to complete. I had a second implant done on a root-canal that went bad on the opposite side. This one (just got the crown today) was done at "Maha Chakri Sirinhorn Dental Hospital" (MCSDC) in Salaya. They used the same Straumann implant but did not scan my mouth for a digital crown. The crown was done using an impression. This one seems to fit perfectly as well. Implant and crown were about THB15K cheaper, but altogether probably THB20-25K cheaper. i Either place is great for implants, with similar quality work, but with MCSDH being significantly cheaper. I would highly recommend MCSDH for anyone on a budget on that side of town. It's a nice facility with good service and for more traditional dentistry they are probably 80-90% cheaper than BHDC,
