  1. Thanks for all the comments seems its slightly tilting to not ideal. I was always a bit concerned and the fact that I paid the monies for the company and then almost 2 months later I had recieved zero paperwork. I then asked the agent of the property firm selling these houses if they knew anything about my companies formation and they replied nothing, I'm not there customer etc it has nothing to do with them. Then eventually still no paperwork but the name of the family on the company was actually that of the agent that is selling the properties! So they went from not knowing anything to admitting it was them but not to worry as the lawyer trusts them and they are not bs people.
  2. When purchasing a house In Thailand and then registering that house through a company as the owner, is it normal for the lawyer to add her friends as the 51% owners? I was originally told you need 3 independent Thai people as the 51% owners and myself as the remaining 49%. After much silence from the lawyer after paying for the company formation, i was trying to find out who was added as the 51% owners but received nothing from my lawyer, i then stepped up and asked the property developer if they knew who was added as the 51% owner, they claimed to know nothing about it either. After several months i found out that the 51% shareholders were actually all part of the same local family, i thought this was a bit strange but was told don't worry we can change it later, we had to do that to do it quickly! Yet there was no time frame and certainly was not in a rush to get this finalised at that time.
  3. Thailand will never rid itself of its drugs business, too many people involved and too many people making money from it. The US started a 'war on drugs' in the 70 / 80's and managed to stop the biggest trafficker from South America, the source of most drugs. Since then drugs have never been ore readily available, so go figure. You can still walk into any bar in any big city in the world and get most drugs within a couple of hours, that's the reality of the situation. You dont just get rid of that. Of course Thailand is a major production center, so in theory just shut those down first but you wont stop the drug problem.
  4. Look at history to know the future, everything has become digital, look at how are conversing now compared to 20 years ago. I will be able to (can) send 50 cents anywhere in the world pretty much instant for less than a cent. The use case for micropayment is huge and pay as you go type payments, will become alot more relevant in the future. I appreciate some of the older folk have a difficult time understanding new technologies (digital value / transfer) and their impact however if you are unable to find one thing positive or see anything worthwhile then i say to do some research, its certainly a rabbit hole. It all started in the 80's but no one was able to produce a workable product, untill 2009 when that changed by Satoshi solving the double spend problem. Its was a huge moment!
  5. International politics and world news do not construct the basis for an intelligent conversation. Many a good conversation can had about Thailand or just looking at the stars and discussing the universe. I must admit though i'm struggling for great conversations with Thai people, probably only met 2 in my whole time and yes they were educated and had lived abroad but we certainly never discussed politics. (Thats pretty low bar for discusion imo) Certainly farm or northwestern Issan girls have never engaged me mentally, other than to wonder whats going through their head sometimes.
  6. Sounds like debate on this forum, i reply to someone who's probably around 74, no idea about the subject that i am passionate about, yet then replies with your in la la land or someone generic insult, offering nothing to the discussion thus killing the topic. I feel your pain.
  7. Perhaps offer something that might support your comment rather than just mocking my post. The traction it has occurred over the last 12 years is simply amazing and undenaiably impressive. No down time, no expansion of monetary policy everyone comes round to the idea eventually, started with one user 12 years ago, now has over 100m. How did that happen?
  8. GBP the oldest Fiat currency in existence, sad to see its demise Its not just the pound that falling, the Euro is no better positioned vs the Dollar. My prediction all Fiat currencies, Euro, GBP, Yen implode to the USD. Thats when they accept they have a broken money system and the unit then moves to a more universal digital currency, which will be backed by gold and bitcoin (the only true hard monies)
  9. These do seem very common in Thailand especially for people that have little money and probably don't calculate quire realise the amount of interest that is connected to their loan. Or you can always add collateral, I know of one women in Hua Hin, works in real estate but also has numerous loans through sharks against her house and restaurant. Potentially will lose it all if the debt is not serviced each year.
  10. I think its awfull which ever way you look at it. TBH im having some time believing this story, if its true its pretty messed up but it is the north so wouldnt surprise me
  11. Do you recall the 2010 swine flu pandemic, outrage at scientists and pharma but seems along time forgotten. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2010/jun/04/swine-flu-experts-big-pharmaceutical HSBC: Biggest fine in history US 1.2b dollars, UK HSBC was fined 69m for being complicit in money laundering. Apple: Fined 20m for deliberately slowing their batteries down on older models so customers would be forced to upgrade their phones when actually not needed. You live In Thailand? You must see first hand the dialy corruption, imagine what you dont hear about or see? This unfortunately is how the world works / run, money and corruption.
  12. The covid jabs only provide for upto 3 months, thats why people are on their 4th or even 5th in some cases. A yearly jab is not nearly as profitable as something that needs 3 or 4 per year. Anyway as we can see the world is moving on, the people that didn't get vaccinated have not all died and have they have not caused a mad rush at the hopsitals as previously predicted by some. if your old or pretty ill then perhaps consider taking the jab.
  13. How gross, everyone saying there is no moral issues, yes it is the north of Thailand, i appreciate that but still, a 17 yr old being married to 58 year old loser with no money to his name is a bit strange. If the brother is phoning up her sister / your gf for 200 bht for bqq pork how on earth is he going to arrange sin sot and money for them all.
  14. Perhaps Buddhas diabetes isn't as bad as they first thought. The red Fantas will be continued to be donated.
  15. Not many will make it as far as him and at that age you are very susceptible to any sort of virus or disease. A strong guy with a strong mind, that's what got him as far as has come.
  16. America started a 'war on drugs' in the 70's since then there are more drugs than ever in the country. Definately not working, or perhaps it is, its keeps the prisons full and the police busy enough and to look there are actually doing something. Although not involved in drugs myself i have met a few odious charachters around and you can be safely sure that the police are 100% involved in the distrubution of drugs in Thailand.
  17. Poor guys, these people are not master mining shipments to new Zealand, i can say that for sure. Always the lemmings that get arrested with the same drugs doing the rounds. This will never ever stop as there so much money to made from both sides, lemmings end up in prison and the guys actually behind it will get nothing....other than the drugs back to redistribute and another round of 'arrests'
  18. Most of the posts on this forum seem to go straight over your head, or you just confuse yourself trying to interpret them Its really not that complicated.
  19. Exactly apparently she was a teacher during the day and at night worked as a greeter for her friends bars, never went with customers though!!
  20. Hopefully he will be found, with all the ways of getting in contatc these days, it would be hard not to be able to. I had a guy i knew go missing in Thailand for about a month. He was a mate of a mate but had met him as he wanted to hear about Thailand. He went to pattaya, met a teacher and then went back to Surin with her to her families place, at first he was sleeping with her but also with her 3 kids. Then after 1 day contact dissapeared and then nothing for the next 4 weeks but his whatsapp was being used but no replies to us, also approx £200 was being removed from his account every day. He finally showed up back in UK, very pale and not exactly transparent about what happened. Basically he was held hostage whilst they nicked all his money, when the money stopped they let him go.
  21. To be fair New York and other cities used to throw all their rubbish into the river, including all the slot machines / one armed bandits. Thailand are just around 50 years behind 1st world countries (although thats not necessarily something to aspire to)
  22. 300 baht. lol that wouldn't even buy you a pint of cider in Thailand. The real tourists are not going to even notice there is an extra charge.
  23. An iphone is hardly compensation for a kidney, even in Thailand. NHS England will reimburse costs and expenses if you donate a kidney to them. They wont quote a price however its thought around £3,000 - £7,000 for your living kidney. (i.e from a live donor)
  24. Lol my information comes from traveling the world and looking into the sex activities in everyone of those cities. Where does your info come from?...no you dont offer any contradictional information just question mine. hmmm.
