  1. I had about 6,000 thb  taken from my shorts by some little kids whilst walking down walking street at 6am one morning.

Luckily a Thai lady had seen the crime ( I was totally unaware that i had been pickpocketed) and after a short discussion i had my money back any was told by the Thai women that they were Cambodian kids.

Weird thing is straight after the theft the kids just sat on the kerb, hence why i was able to get the money back from the kind lady that saw the theft.

Yes it costs 20 k to open and 20k to close a company.

    Why are you panicking?

When you acquire a company all of the shares are giving to you and who ever has a share already signed it over in your name!

Sure there are stories about people losing the house(company)but i have never met a person who had this happen.

The government accepts the book keeping yearly and as  long as they do,why worry?

Yes you can chance the nominees at any time, but why would you?

When i was organising the formation of the company, the lawyer would be on hand every hour of the day, never too much trouble, once i paid the money i couldn't get hold of her at all.

This went on for weeks later still received nothing relating to the company and i finally bumped into her and her phone had not been working! It had she had just been ignoring me.

I asked the property developer who was selling the houses if she could help find the lawyer as it was her that had recommended her. She said it has nothing to do with her.

Then eventually the lawyer told me that the property developer and her family were the other shareholders, I then asked the developer why she failed to mention that she was the shareholder? No response other that you can trust us.

Within a day or two of this, i was then confronted by a local women who worked in a restaurant, who threatened to kill me if i did not leave Thailand. I sort of knew the women and was suprised that i had been apparently been talking <deleted> about her. The property developer had told this women some rubbish that i had been talking badly ( I hardly knew the women concerned just used to say hello when i saw her) and was ready to shoot me if i stayed there any longer there! Bit strange i thought as i had never said good or bad about this women and he was she was spitting and calling me all names under the sun!

One of the local farangs saw what was happening in this 'verbal attack' me and later confirmed that this women had previously attacked a local french men with a samurai sword.

Hmmm i was getting the feeling they don't want me to own this house. I should add this was all pre covid lockdown.

Then there is the possibility of keeping the ownership any actual structures seperate and usufructs.

I told them to close the company down (bearing in mind after paying for the formation of the co. and 2 months later i still had actually seen no paperwork, nothing) however they said I had to pay another 20k thb to shut it down. More money lol!

Very shady story, which is why it's best to buy a condo in foreign quota

Never been a fan of condos but understand that ownership is more straightforward.

It certainly has got alot shadier as ive found out as time has gone on. Probably best not to write about it on a public forum.

Ive looked into going to court but it seems there is no such thing as a small claims type of court in Thailand.

Been told that is will cost a few thousand dollars just to get a judge to look at the case and then if they dont feel thats is necessary to move forward then it wont even get to court and you lose that money.

Do you trust the Thai nominees who own 51% of your assets?

Thanks for all the comments  seems its slightly tilting to not ideal.

I was always a bit concerned and the fact that I paid the monies for the company and then almost 2 months later I had recieved zero paperwork.

I then asked the agent of the property firm selling these houses if they knew anything about my companies formation and they replied nothing, I'm not there customer etc it has nothing to do with them.

Then eventually still no paperwork but the name of the family on the company was actually that of the agent that is selling the properties! So they went from not knowing anything to admitting it was them but not to worry as the lawyer trusts them and they are not bs people.

  6. Thailand will never rid itself of its drugs business, too many people involved and too many people making money from it.

The US started a 'war on drugs' in the 70 / 80's and managed to stop the biggest trafficker from South America, the source of most drugs. Since then drugs have never been ore readily available, so go figure.

You can still walk into any bar in any big city in the world and get most drugs within a couple of hours, that's the reality of the situation. You dont just get rid of that.

Of course Thailand is a major production center, so in theory just shut those down first but you wont stop the drug problem.

    Support?
It's Bitcoin that lacks any support not my comments!

Beyond someone else willing to buy it from you, what is the fundamental support for Bitcoin?

Look at history to know the future, everything has become digital, look at how are conversing now compared to 20 years ago.

I will be able to (can) send 50 cents anywhere in the world pretty much instant for less than a cent. The use case for micropayment is huge and pay as you go type payments, will become alot more relevant in the future.

I appreciate some of the older folk have a difficult time understanding new technologies (digital value / transfer) and their impact however if you are unable to find one thing positive or see anything worthwhile then i say to do some research, its certainly a rabbit hole.

It all started in the 80's but no one was able to produce a workable product, untill 2009 when that changed by Satoshi solving the double spend problem.

    Its was a huge moment!

You have to remember that international politics and world news are completely irrelevant to the vast majority of Thai folk.

They don't realize there is a whole other world outside of Thailand's borders.

International politics and world news do not construct the basis for an intelligent conversation. Many a good conversation can had about Thailand or just looking at the stars and discussing the universe.

I must admit though i'm struggling for great conversations with Thai people, probably only met 2 in my whole time and yes they were educated and had lived abroad but we certainly never discussed politics. (Thats pretty low bar for discusion imo)

Certainly farm or northwestern Issan girls have never engaged me mentally, other than to wonder whats going through their head sometimes.

Perhaps offer something that might support your comment rather than just mocking my post.

The traction it has occurred over the last 12 years is simply amazing and undenaiably impressive.

No down time, no expansion of monetary policy everyone comes round to the idea eventually, started with one user 12 years ago, now has over 100m. How did that happen?

  10. These do seem very common in Thailand especially for people that have little money and probably don't calculate quire realise the amount of interest that is connected to their loan.

Or you can always add collateral, I know of one women in Hua Hin, works in real estate but also has numerous loans through sharks against her house and restaurant.

Potentially will lose it all if the debt is not serviced each year.

Oh its about money according to you. If that was the case then flu jabs would also be more than yearly.

Do you recall the 2010 swine flu pandemic, outrage at scientists and pharma but seems along time forgotten.

    https://www.theguardian.com/business/2010/jun/04/swine-flu-experts-big-pharmaceutical

HSBC: Biggest fine in history US 1.2b dollars, UK HSBC was fined 69m for being complicit in money laundering.

Apple: Fined 20m for deliberately slowing their batteries down on older models so customers would be forced to upgrade their phones when actually not needed.

You live In Thailand? You must see first hand the dialy corruption, imagine what you dont hear about or see? This unfortunately is how the world works / run, money and corruption.

Or you could just do what at risk people do and take a yearly booster the same as with the flu. I don't think anyone is contemplating counting how many shots you take altogether apart from you.

The covid jabs only provide for upto 3 months, thats why people are on their 4th or even 5th in some cases.

A yearly jab is not nearly as profitable as something that needs 3 or 4 per year.

Anyway as we can see the world is moving on, the people that didn't get vaccinated have not all died and have they have not caused a mad rush at the hopsitals as previously predicted by some.

if your old or pretty ill then perhaps consider taking the jab.

  13. How gross, everyone saying there is no moral issues, yes it is the north of Thailand, i appreciate that but still, a 17 yr old being married to 58 year old loser with no money to his name is a bit strange.

If the brother is phoning up her sister / your gf for 200 bht for bqq pork how on earth is he going to arrange sin sot and money for them all.

  14. America started a 'war on drugs' in the 70's since then there are more drugs than ever in the country. Definately not working, or perhaps it is, its keeps the prisons full and the police busy enough and to look there are actually doing something.

Although not involved in drugs myself i have met a few odious charachters around and you can be safely sure that the police are 100% involved in the distrubution of drugs in Thailand.

  15. Poor guys, these people are not master mining shipments to new Zealand, i can say that for sure.

Always the lemmings that get arrested with the same drugs doing the rounds.

This will never ever stop as there so much money to made from both sides, lemmings end up in prison and the guys actually behind it will get nothing....other than the drugs back to redistribute and another round of 'arrests'
