Pattaya is good if you do not need a car to get around at busy days and times. However a boring location if you enjoy motorbike riding, diving, hiking, kayaking, climbing, but for an average retired expat, great. I might relocate there after 70 years old, and time to leave Isan.

I built on my gf land now wife, and my calculation is 5 years expensive rent, 10 year cheap rent. 20 years, won the lottery. I got 4 different bikes from 250 to 1000cc, and each and one for its own purpose, and happy with original sound. I just cant stand going on a longer trip with other riders with loud pipes, but not really a problem if you keep them behind you. My mods is just proper luggage systems and lights + a decent phone holder. One of the off roads I changed the suspension, and exhoust was already on when I bought it, but I only use that for offroad and not touring. The pcx was our first bike and we often go two on pluss a back pack, and new rear suspension was very much needed. It doesnt give that much extra effect either, except the sound. So, ? Unless you are an active rider, not even dirt bikes need any new pipes. Most would gain more effect by loosing a few kg 😉 Both for health and effect.

There is two important things, luck and also active riding. The combination of being an ative rider when necessary, and also defensive when needed. Beingnavle to rake space, leave room for getting out of situations, be visible and predictable. Experience is everything here and learn to to expect the unexpected around every corner, and from behind at anytime.

Is there possible to change the standard setting on suspension on smaller scoots? Do adv 160 have proper suspension? Honda stock suspension used to be bad on rhe older scoots, now I do not know, but I did change the rear on my pcx and it was night and day in comparison. Sorry but stock exhaust really do not change much performance on scoots, just making them annoying lauder, and you loose your guarantee by doing so.

Well, Samsonite is as good as Tumo, it is all down to your own preferences and your wallet, and as well what is available. I just had a look around, and choosed American Traveller this time, because the prices in Thailand is higher than home. Had numerous samsonites, some of them lasted 20+ years, and now on my second American traveller, and I have travelled all my life for sport, work and holidays. Suitcases, duffelbags, carry on/hand luggage, camera/computer bags. So I had myeperience and preferences. Cant go wrong with either Tumo or Samsonite. Amercan traveller not so many years experience yet, but so far looking promizing compared to the price.
