There is no problem to buy, if you know you going to live there for 10 years, and you know the management is good, and the condominium is well run with decent rules, and the majority of owners, pays their maintenance fees, and you choose an apartment you know will be easy to sell, because of the location, the majority of the owners, is good, the maintenance is good, the facilities is attractive, the floor and side of building is attractive, and the apartment have good solutions, a proper kitchen, balcony, etc. Then you can be lucky, and if you do not have a crazy neighbour, who makes you life miserable for some reasons you didn't even think of

Whatโs your favorite motorbike trip in Northern Thailand?
Hummin replied to TPDH's topic in Chiang Mai
I have been to Nan 5 times, and Chiang Rai twice, Pai 5 times, and been on and off road in the area several times as well. So there is more than enough to explore for a few years active riding or more. The only riding I havent focusing to much on in Thailand is along Mekong border to Cambodia. I didnt find that part especially interesting, but the rest Thailand, have been great with so many possiblities and hidden gems everywhere. And what surprised me most, have been between Saraburi and Korat via chaiyaphum stretches. Love Loei and Petchabun, Phistanulok, Uttaradit, Kanchanaburi, Suan Phueng, The costal scenic road between Hua Hin and Chumpon to Ranong, down to krabi, Trang, Satun, There is so much to cover, and there is no end, if you enjoy riding. But still I cherish many places in Chiang Rai, and I do not know why, but it was nice riding, and it seems to be a bit more relaxed traffic in that Province for some reason, and not so chaotic as the rest of the country. Mae Hong Son or especially the road from Chiang Mai to Pai, is just crazy sometimes, and pain in the butt hole to just try to enjoy riding at the same road as the overlaoded pick ups and the Minivans who all have a lunatic driver. -
I wouldnt worry much, but if you stay longer, then it is a good thing to disconnect your battery, and charge it when you come back. I wouldnt leave on service charge for several months. Every time I was gone for 3 months or longer, I serviced my big bikes, and after 6 months I would empty the tank and flush out old gasolin and put new back in. For a smaller bike, I wouldnt bother to much with any of that except if it was time for the annual service or up to the service based on km whatever comes first. My biggest problem or happenend twice, was mouse eat my electric system, and had to replace parts of it.

The whole conflict evolve aroud land theft, lack of basic human rights, and a country who believes in their right to a promised land. Still there is voices who continue to make excuses, and pretend it is not true. First of all, there should not had been any Israel or Palestine, it Should had been one country and one people. After all, they are all brothers and sisters. Strange how the Ottaman Empire managed to control and keep peace in that erae for more than 400 years or so, wait, have to check Palestine, which yearns for peace and stability for over a century, saw its longest period of peace during the 401 years of Ottoman rule, from the conquest of Jerusalem in 1516 to the dawn of the British Mandate in 1917 https://www.trtworld.com/turkiye/how-peace-flourished-in-ottoman-palestine-a-story-of-coexistence-15612345 Oh, must be fake news, let me see Although the Ottomans did not treat Jews differently from other minorities in the country, the policies seemed to align well with Jewish traditions, which allowed communities to flourish. The Jewish people were allowed to establish their own autonomous communities, which included their own schools and courts. Those rights were extremely controversial in other regions in Muslim North Africa and absolutely unrealistic in Europe. The communities would prove to be centers of education and trade because of the large array of connections to other Jewish communities across the Mediterranean https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_the_Ottoman_Empire We know the history tends to be coloured by side and the those who won, still there is alot there can be said about how we ended up with the terror attack on 7. october 2023. There will not be any solution here, and I say again, two evil doesnt make one right

The best thing is to buy an condemenium and rent it out, and when you are not here anymore, she can decide to sell it, or continue renting it out. In the meantime you can teach her the routines about having a rental object, the duties, the maintenenca airb? or whatever you prefer.

It is a money issue, and what you really want to spend money on. As Im only 56, I will have insurance as long I stay in Thailand, I might change my opinion when I get past 75, if I do. But still, it is more of a matter of accidents, and also other more serious health problems that can be dealt with a rountine operation, like an hearth issue, that most likely would put you back 3 millions or more? It could be worth having an insurance handy

The Asian property marked is good for those who need their money in circulation to make them clean, not for average Joe. I will not risk My hard earned legal money in Asian property. I have gambled on farm land for my wife, and so far exceeded my expectations, at least as long we ar married.

Hummin replied to Aurelien's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
you like her look and the presence of her! Things we used to do when we where tenagers, or sometimes at the local shop where a new lady appeared, and we managed to pull a date. Cant remember I have done anything like that since I was a teenager. Anyway, none of them appeared to be anything like what I thought they where ๐ Anyone here managed to pull a bird like that for a serious relationship? Anyway, what is your intention? -
Whatโs your favorite motorbike trip in Northern Thailand?
Hummin replied to TPDH's topic in Chiang Mai
My best trips have been when I started and had for an example Pai or the golden triangle as my goal, and just take day by day, finding a new hotel for next day, just by finding a potential nice road, and a hotel around 300- 450 km to cover for the day. -

Just Northern Thailand with all smaller roads, over mountains, around mountains is just great, but Nan and Chiang Rai I had some great trips. End of Rains season have been the nicest time on the road. But everything from Petchabun and North, is great. -
