I was never banned there but I stopped using it after a couple of months. This was several years ago. They started snipping out parts of my posts almost immediately. Several TVF posters of the year at first migrated over there. But at least two prominent ones were banned or runoff.

Reading this topic has caused me to wonder: how many people posting to this forum are housebound or nearly so due to age or illness?

Female police save woman from drunk foreigner during Songkran

Depends on the situation, but if the man put his hands on her and physically coerced her in any way, then he should have been arrested. And that is precisely what this sounds like:- 83 replies

Good point about the showers. I take a shower every time I come back from going somewhere or, of course, from working out in the yard. It refreshes you for at least 30 minutes to sometimes an hour.

The more technology makes it possible to surveil, the more laws that will be enacted to take advantage of the surveillance. The noose gets ever tighter. Everywhere. Did the camera just catch you buying beer, when you could have bought organic vegetables? Bad for your health! You now need to pay a higher health tax.

Try and rent a house. Don't get stuck in a condo. I'd feel like I'm in prison in a condo. I have a large two story house in the western suburbs of Bangkok. Leading off from my office is a large second story verandah that is 14m deep and covers the face of the house lengthwise. Easy to take a break and enjoy outside, with a fan if necessary. Good to go work in the backyard and trim trees, bushes, and pull weeds. I don't even run the aircon until after 10pm at night, and I set it at 31 (highest my Mitsubishi will go). Get yourself acclimated. You will not do that sitting inside your condo. Walk, move around. You'll feel better about yourself and your environment. Don't lock yourself in.

ASEAN NOW to be purchased by The Thaiger?
John Drake replied to TheAppletons's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Thaiger had/has its own forum. But it was a disaster. They had hair trigger bans and heavy censorship. It was far, far worse than AN ever was at its depths a couple of years ago. -
Did you know this about 7-Eleven (Thailand)?
John Drake replied to george's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Wasn't there a plan to put one in every village a couple of years ago? -
Because the names of assailants are part of the basic news story. Know the name of the doctor kicker, don't we? The cop who ran over the woman eye specialist? The Swiss who beat up a Thai woman in a grocery store. It's basic journalism. Not to mention that knowing who he is could bring additional witnesses or people who may have had a run in with him in the past. Why would you not want to know his name?

Durian exports to undergo regulatory revamp in Thailand
John Drake replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News Headlines
Chinese eating Thais out of their own durian. Literally. And since increasingly Chinese are buying out crops directly from farms, with no middlemen, Thais may soon no longer be able to buy durians at any price. -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2024)
John Drake replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
Just watched the first episode of The Sympathizer. Quite good, surprisingly. I say surprisingly because I didn't like the book at all. But this episode is well done. There is the usual contemporary photography that somehow manages to make even SE Asia look somewhat gloomy outside, when it's so bright here during the exterior filming season that you usually need an umbrella or even a tent to shoot. IMDb says some exteriors shot in Thailand. Don't know where. But overall, effective atmosphere that captures Saigon in 1975. -

BREAKING NEWS! Iran potentially triggers World War 3
John Drake replied to george's topic in The War in Israel
I've been hearing about an Iranian youth revolt since the 1990s. Most of them are in late middle age now. At least. Somehow, the revolution never happens. Either the government is more than capable of always beating them down, or the "modern youth" eventually age into comfortable defenders of the status quo. -
BREAKING NEWS! Iran potentially triggers World War 3
John Drake replied to george's topic in The War in Israel
There is this from wiki. I don't know how accurate wiki is, but here it is anyway: And it was an annex that was hit, not the embassy itself. Inside were Iranian generals who had planned October 7. -

Sure hope one of those Iranian missiles doesn't get through and accidentally destroy the Dome of the Rock.
