The decrepit looking Prawit is obviously well past his use-by-date, if he ever had one.
There are many in the Prayut Chan-o-cha government who are an embarrassment to the country and utter failures but none so greater than this bozo.

What risks? The PM has appointed himself as Chairman of the Economic Management Committee. The country is in safe hands thanks to his economic wizardry. What could go wrong!

‘High speed’ needed to name new SRT board
It was never a matter about SRT Board. It was about CP Group's refusal to sign the contracts. That then brought out threats by the government of penalties against CP and having them struck from future contract bidding. The resignation of the SRT Board is a red herring.
One of the problems that may have prevented the CP Group from signing the contract was that not all the land needed for the rail track had not been acquired by SRT. I can't imagine anyone signing a contract while that important issue was unresolved.
Given SRT's track record it had/has all the makings of another Hopewell debacle.

Perhaps Thailand 4.0 should be renamed Thailand 3.8. A drop in competitiveness is not a good sign for the PM's much vaunted EEC.
I am guessing one of Thailand's biggest weakness in achieving it's goals is the outmoded education system. And that doesn't look like improving for a few more decades yet because of the entrenched inflexible government policies and corruption within the system.
The Japanese have already come to the conclusion that that there is a serious shortage of skilled labour available in Thailand (EEC) which is detrimental to attracting foreign investment.

Here is the best high tech motivator the RTP have come up with so far. Or rather it would be if anyone could stay awake long enough to be bothered to ring it.

The Prime Minister has expressed his admiration as Thailand this year is ranked as one of the top 20 markets with the greatest potential for future trade growth
A reasonably good result for Thailand. 8th out of 20. Just behind Vietnam 6th and Indonesia 7th.
Just a shame that exports are contracting. According to Trading Economics, down 4% from last year.
But export figures are not always what they appear to be. A headline in a report by the Bangkok Bank.
Thai export numbers for February 2019 were vastly overstated by the repatriation of US weapons systems following Cobra Gold.
Some would call that massaging the figures. There seems to be a fine line between truth and lies with government sourced statistics.

Initiative, creativity and enterprise, something the PM has been calling for from the people for a long time. This young boy shows how it is done.
He should be invited along as a guest speaker to the economic creativity brainstorming session at the Thammasat University.

Trump threatens Turkey with 'extremely decimated economy' over Syria
Turkey's economy is just about stuffed as it is. Whatever Trump thinks he might do won't matter an iota. Except that it might scupper any Turkish/Thailand EEC investment plans.
Somkid has not long been over there doing a slick used car salesman job on Turkey hoping to induce them to invest in the EEC. Thailand's is scraping the bottom of the foreign investment barrel with Turkey.

That came from the Minister of Tourism. Of all the idiots in the Prayut led government the Minister of Tourism stands head and shoulders over the rest.

No such thing as Buddhist Lent.
I thought there was but that it only applied to monks. If that is the case then the PM should be preaching primarily to the monks and telling them to keep off the turps for their Lent period.

This idea is creative in itself. That's enough creativeness to start with so don't push it please. Any more might require intelligent action from someone in government and that's a big ask.

10 million people registered? So 1 in every 7 man, woman and child, old and decrepit or on the teat, has registered for membership as either a domestic tourist or service provider/supplier.

The proof is there to see. The second quarter GDP growth was the lowest since Prayut initiated the coup. The country has gone nowhere in 5 years.
One has only to look at the quality of the ministers chosen by Prayut to see that this level of under performance will remain unchanged.

And he denies all that with a straight face and without his lips moving. What a great government and leader this country has.

You are spot on. Looks very much like Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat a member of the Phalang Pracharat Party who is the official government spokesperson. Just having a pretend deep and meaningful conversation with her boss.
Remember a week or so ago she accidentally dropped him right in it when she scattered around photos of him eating out of a foam bowl on his private plane.

Thai PM Prayuth Chan-o-cha slaps down claims that minister was drug-trafficker
The story goes on to say:
Thailand’s prime minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, defended a senior member of his government who has been exposed as a convicted heroin smuggler, insisting that the revelations were “small issues” and that questions about the scandal upset him.
It is interesting the PM is upset about the "scandal" and going to a lot of trouble to defend this drug trafficker who he has appointed Deputy Minister for Agriculture. What does this convicted criminal know that is so "upsetting" to the PM and why was he given ministerial positions and now being protected.
Hopefully the truth will out. Well done BBC Thai, keep digging.
