On three occasions recently he has made public utterances in reference to politics. On each instance he has made a goose of himself.
It seems the Thai military breeds generals with qualities of endearing charm, integrity, honesty, leadership and humanity. General Prayut Chan-o-cha and General Apirat Kongsompong and General Prawit Wongsuwan are just a few examples of such men.
Hands up all those who agree.

Another crippling blow to Thailand's rubber industry and exports? These unexpected events just adding to an already weakening economy.

Thailand is Asia's most developed auto parts market and a hub for the likes of Toyota, Honda and Mercedes-Benz, making cars and car parts the country's No. 1 export in 2012. The floods in 2011 disrupted more than 100 components makers.
Thailand is the second-largest exporter of computer hard drives and makers other components used in personal computers. Thailand’s important and fast-growing production industries are machinery and electric tools, furniture and wood products, canned food, and plastic products, while production industries that account for major export items are high-technology products such as integrated circuits and parts, hard disc drives, electrical appliances, vehicles, and vehicle parts.

And much more. You guys talk like you know, but you not know.
On this occasion you seem to have lost the plot. Sad, but it comes as no surprise! The topic of the story is about:
More manufacturers relocating to Thailand from China, HK
The story is NOT about what industries have been operating successfully in Thailand since 2011. Any fool can look that up in Google and quote it like they are a master know-all. You might find now in 2019 those old Google success stories are becoming irrelevant/historic because of the impact of the high baht on exports and other factors. To quote from another source which I am not permitted to mention:
"Other emerging economies (Indonesia and Vietnam) are developing an automotive industry, learning from Thailand's mistakes. This means Thailand could lose its automotive core competency unless policymakers adapt to industry upgrades to meet global trends".
This is 2019 not 2011. Try and keep your comments up-to-date and your pitiful sarcasm relevant to the topic. In this instance it has been wasted.

Union urges caution on high-speed rail contract
All caution has been thrown to the wind.
First things first......before a contract has even been signed SRT have set the maximum fare at 330 baht, linking U-Tapao airport with Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang in Bangkok.
Watch out CP Group you could be walking into a well sprung SRT trap, just like Hopewell.

Might I suggest these are the scraps of Chinese manufacturers who have not already moved or been denied access to other preferred locations such as Vietnam and Malaysia.
Why else would they go to a country with higher wages, lower productivity, higher value currency. And one that uses imported and itinerant foreign workers and has complex and onerous visa laws for employers of such foreign workers.
Thailand is being used as last resort and is desperate to accept what's left of dodgy tinpot Chinese manufacturers. The best of the Chinese manufacturers have long gone elsewhere.

I was under the impression that the observance of Buddhist Lent was more a practice for monks rather than the general public. But I could be wrong on that.
Apart from just restaurants perhaps all City Halls throughout Thailand could issue certificates to Buddhist temples which refrain from alcohol and molestation of young trainees during the Lent period.

A Prayut promise is a worthless promise. He doesn't have the moniker "Pinocchio" for no reason.
The Opposition should know better that to accept anything the PM says as being truthful. They should have him say it in parliament and get it in writing as well.

Prayut said this budget is in line with the government’s 20-year national strategy (2018-2037),
Prayut's 20 year national strategy will count for nought when General Apirat instigates the next coup. He has made it clear it is his turn next. Then the military budget will be more that twice what it is now.

The Los Angeles Times described much of Asian defence spending as "keeping up with the Joneses".
Bernard Loo <deleted> Weng, a military expert at Singapore’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies described such was the competition for big ticket military items of dubious necessity. He went on to say:
"Southeast Asia is littered with examples of such purchases. Thailand owns an aircraft carrier without any aircraft. Indonesia dedicated about a sixth of its military budget to the purchase of 11 Russian Su-35 fighter jets. And Malaysia splurged on two French submarines it couldn’t figure out how to submerge."
Thailand's quasi democratic junta would be making their expenditure based on the recommendation (orders) of the military, General Apirat no doubt.
It seems image and ego (submarines) play a big part in the weapons purchase policy.

And the Thais also beat Indonesia with the highest household debt to GDP ratio in Asia.
Thailand 3rd at 68.9
Indonesia 9th at 16.9
Congratulations Thailand!
Plus the new budget contains stimulus measures which includes easy access to government bank loans for workers, farmers and small business. That might lift Thailand to the top of the League ladder in Asian domestic debt.

The government plans to introduce a tax on sugar used in the beverage industry so it is likely less sugar will need to be grown anyway.
The high baht will automatically kill sugar exports. So the sugar industry is not looking good regardless of whether they use toxic chemicals or not.
The less sugar planted/grown means less smoke and haze which must be a health plus.

This is sure to set in motion another enraged rant by anti-democracy, pro-military, pro-coup General Apirat. With PM Prayut telling him to calm down and control his temper and not to rock the junta in disguise boat.

The board of State Railway of Thailand (SRT) on Wednesday (October16) approved a Bt920 million budget for hiring Advanced Information Technology (AIT)
Unbelievable! Almost 1 billion baht or 33 million US dollars for some basic ticketing software. Even with the basic SRT management kickbacks AIT must be laughing all the way to the bank. Small wonder the SRT is verging on bankruptcy and can't pay Hopewell or other creditors.
They probably could have purchased a copy of Vietnam's railway E ticket system. They have had their's up and running since 2015.
That tells a story about SRT and Thailand in itself. Thailand's claim to 4.0 is a joke.

The supreme optimist is that PM Prayut. With the baht strengthening in value it should be expected that exports will fall even further. A GDP growth of between 2% and 3% is more likely.

The Assembly of the Rich are very busy at present looking after the interests of the Assembly of the Elite.

This is wonderful news. The declining economy has been saved by the brilliance of those politicians who created the free money Chim Shop Chai campaign specifically designed for Thai domestic tourists. Self congratulations are in order.
Now after that amazing success story in November they will introduce some more free money, but this time only 4 million baht (40,000 X 100 baht). That should be the icing on the economy cake and put the economy back on track.
No worries folks! Forget about the declining exports, the high baht, sagging consumer confident, the slump in GDP growth.
Prayut and his economic team have everything under control. You wait and see!
