  1. Not sure its everywhere but had the one in July rejected and had to go in person, nice lady told me when doing online had to be submitted and received before the due date... Online reporting has no grace period. That was Jomtien so.... but did my October 4 days early.. No issues..
  2. just finished "Time enough for Love" Robert Heinlein for the 5th time in 50 yrs. Great book Sci-fi old school... Need to hit the book shop in Pattaya but could not find the old location... need some new reading material
  3. Just got locked out of my BKK bank on iPhone 14 yesterday, text said I had to go to a branch.. Did today and wasn't a real easy task to get back in the saddle.... Yes I'm past 70 and not as tech savvy as many... But up till this happened I have been amazed at the ease of online banking. I kind of suspect Apple noticed my dual sim (ones USA) and just screwed with enough settings I couldn't enter the pin yesterday.... Hence locking account...
  4. As my Thai bride and I coming up on 50 yrs together, I have experience here.... Yes we call it Hangry and especially in the car if she says I'm hungry I'd sure better find a place to eat PDQ. Even traveling with her girl friends they told me, she gets really bitchy when she's hungry...Thanks Sheryl on the why.. as she wasn't noticeably like this 40 yrs ago.. that I remember...555
  5. Just did my first on line report and all went well except the CAPTIVA thing, there was nothing there and wouldn't reset ..Played with a lot of things, disconnected VPN and finally at the bottom of screen clicked start a new application, hit that and in that screen the CAPTIVA populated, went back to returning applicant and bingo CAPTIVA worked. I'm not real tech savvy and was surprised yesterday the email came with the new 90 day extension... Dumb luck...? Sorry for those with issues but my first try we muddled through... Sure beats driving to Jomtien...
  6. OK read all this and tried, issues with copying the strange letters and symbols but after finally getting that right it appears to have worked, got a email saying my application was accepted? Now just wait? Really except for my old guy mistakes it seemed pretty user friendly...
  7. wife had an electric wok in USA and it did the job and got beat to hell an back. She even took it camping as the camp sites had AC plug. Had to smile about comments on chilies and stinky unknowns waifing through the house.. Comes with the territory...
  8. Jail him and then black list... what an a$$hole....
  9. bought a 2019 Trailblazer and have had it 5 yrs now, not a bit of trouble. Parts are easy to come by. Think these were all built in country and quality seems to be as good as any. Agree look at the brake pedal for excessive wear on rubber pad. If the pad has the ridges worn off the mileage was turned back. Ours is 2.5 liter duramax diesel and gets really good mileage. 13 yrs old probably could use shocks and look if you can see front rotors of brakes, are they scoured or grooved? Things you can point out and may get a discount on price. 250K baht for a car that old it better be in mint condition. But know others who own Chevy's and have never had and issue with many miles/klicks driven....
  10. we drove up there 4 weeks ago, some very cool Khmer temple ruins that are very well kept up. Nice hotel that accepted small dog and great restaurants. Yep was already hot but quite enjoyed the trip...
  11. That dude needs to back to his home country and crawl back under the rock he came from...
  12. green and lush turning into brown and crispy...not a good sign
  13. wifes Thai, we're old, lived in USA 44 yrs and she likes 20C. I can handle the heat but she doesn't very well. Bedroom at night same as parlor during the day 20C and fans and big comforter. Did partition off kitchen dining from parlor/family room so AC doesn't work too hard and 6 inches fiberglass in ceiling whole house. She is happy and has small blankets everywhere and I wear shorts. Retiring here was not and option for me....
  14. There was a group/forum "Cool Thai House" that had a whole lot of posts on about everything on construction and building.. Found a lot of really good info there about anything to do with building, electrical, plumbing etc...
