  1. bought a 2019 Trailblazer and have had it 5 yrs now, not a bit of trouble. Parts are easy to come by. Think these were all built in country and quality seems to be as good as any. Agree look at the brake pedal for excessive wear on rubber pad. If the pad has the ridges worn off the mileage was turned back. Ours is 2.5 liter duramax diesel and gets really good mileage. 13 yrs old probably could use shocks and look if you can see front rotors of brakes, are they scoured or grooved? Things you can point out and may get a discount on price. 250K baht for a car that old it better be in mint condition. But know others who own Chevy's and have never had and issue with many miles/klicks driven....
  2. we drove up there 4 weeks ago, some very cool Khmer temple ruins that are very well kept up. Nice hotel that accepted small dog and great restaurants. Yep was already hot but quite enjoyed the trip...
  3. That dude needs to back to his home country and crawl back under the rock he came from...
  4. green and lush turning into brown and crispy...not a good sign
  5. wifes Thai, we're old, lived in USA 44 yrs and she likes 20C. I can handle the heat but she doesn't very well. Bedroom at night same as parlor during the day 20C and fans and big comforter. Did partition off kitchen dining from parlor/family room so AC doesn't work too hard and 6 inches fiberglass in ceiling whole house. She is happy and has small blankets everywhere and I wear shorts. Retiring here was not and option for me....
  6. There was a group/forum "Cool Thai House" that had a whole lot of posts on about everything on construction and building.. Found a lot of really good info there about anything to do with building, electrical, plumbing etc...
  7. Our cheap one died after 2 yrs, bought a Toshiba in Home Pro, its stainless double walled insulated think 1.5 liter, around 1000 Bt, wife is happy with it..cheap usually ain't good and good usually ain't cheap..
  8. we're in Sattahip and found the Makro Australian strip loin was really pretty good. The whole loin was about 1900 Bt but made about 10 thick steaks and my Thai wife who lived in US for 44 yrs said this was best beef she has had here. She is a very picky buying... I've bought flank steak from Villa (was real good) but the Tomahawk and such way above our pay grade...never tried... But also agree with others ask the chef....If he's a good dude he can probably get better cheaper than you trying..
  9. I was concerned as well but went to my local Sattahip bank branch and sometimes speaking only English I have issues. Ladies knew exactly what I was after and yes 100 bt...
  10. We own house so its on its.. Was in Boonthavorn and getting a 150 bt one and sales guy who spoke English showed me one for 1000 Bt.. chrome plated, guts all solid brass and can open and clean. Bought one, year later have replaced 3. These don't have trouble but when they leak, shut off valve and unscrew nozzle, flush it and put back.. Yea its a stupid bum gun but got tired of changing it... good ain't cheap and cheap usually ain't good....
  11. Just did this today at an agency aside from bank letter, statement bank book, yellow book, which I was informed of earlier now they wanted copy of chanote front and back as well as Wifes Thai ID. This is odd as I do the 800K which has been in bank since 2019.. After a discussion they upped the fee to 10,000 baht which I forked over.. I was quoted 7,000 for the service.. Not sure if this is bait and switch or what..
  12. I came on 60 day tourist visa from USA, changed to Non O retirement using a service in CM...Wasn't that difficult and nobody said a thing as we flew one way ticket. That was 2019. Depending on yr finances, I did the 800K and have been married to a Thai lady for 48 years. No worries about taking photos in front of our house for immigration to look at. If you have the funds go with the 800K in bank less hoops to jump thru....Just old retired guys opinion...
  13. Due to having wifes container arriving early, I came on 60 day tourist visa, used a service and changed to Non O immigrant visa, opened and dumped 800K in account Nov then received the Non O extension of stay in Feb.. 2020. Not sure what I paid but was cheaper than going back to USA and fussing with Thai embassy that was not close to my US residence.. Good luck with your endeavors
  14. wifes girlfriend just bought one for 400+ baht at homepro
