  1. 45 days exempt by land! That's amazing news! Thailand IS progressing, albeit slowly, but any change is always welcome! Thank You, Joe!!!
  2. Did any of you ever think WHY the death penalty, or a life sentence, or basically any type of punishment doled out today, DOES NOT seem to deter others from committing the same horrendous crime(s)? IMO, today, when a person is given any of these punishments by the courts these days, they are taken away, basically HIDDEN from society, and punishments are carried out without the hourly or daily reminder to ANY other criminal in society! In the past, penalties were normally carried out in the town square, or wherever in public, in clear view of ALL and sundry, as a stark reminder, that THIS is what will happen to YOU, if you do something similar. Methinks something along these lines should happen today, to DETER other evildoers. Same punishments, just do it IN PUBLIC. REMIND criminals, that this could be YOU if you continue your evil deeds. My 2 cents, could not resist!
  3. Woah, am I missing something? I thought the 45 day exempt was only available at airports? Land entry now being maximum 30 days on exempt?
  4. The mayor does know that an electronic safe is available for less than one day's theft, I hope?
  5. Hi, I tried to search for this topic, but could not find it on this site! Can anybody please recommend a visa run / border bounce company in Pattaya? The country does not matter, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, etc. and neither does the time frame (I can stay for days if necessary). My buddy has been on covid extensions for over a year, and according to some people on this forum, if he flies, he may face problems at the airport when he arrives back in Thailand. Therefore, he feels it could be prudent to go to a neighboring country by land, using a reputable agency. Thank you in advance for your help/advice!
  6. Your budget is way too high. I live in a really decent condo, only 50-60 meters from the beach. The Gallery. Walking distance to many 711's and Family Marts. Price, just 8000 baht. Don't know how much it will increase when the lease ends, but you would still be under 10,000 baht, I would guess.
  7. Well, you probably know that Pattaya is not flooded. Come and enjoy. I walk every day on the beachfront, no flooding that I can see. I second Ayaree Place, It's great, cheap, but a nice location, and really great rooms.
  8. Absolute BS, the OP. The only thing that actually WORKS is just an understanding of what each of you want in their relationship. Talk about it, get it straight, and (hopefully) you will have a long and happy life together.
  9. Listen, you have to be a special type of low life to touch a woman without consent.
  10. My friend, money talks, and <deleted> walks. Just do what you want to do, live in Thailand, visit an agent, he/she will get you set up for whatever period you wish to live. Live a good life, enjoy your days.
  11. My friend, just google largest swimming pools in Pattaya. You will find most of them in Condo complexes like Dusit, or Atlantic, etc. Walk in, in your swimming attire, noboby will stop you. Free swimming for as long as you wish. Pattaya is still foreigner-friendly, and you can use this "loophole" for as long as you wish. A freebie would be the beautiful girls, that you could possibly chat up and meet afterwards.
  12. Methinks a law allowing 110 volts for anti-theft should be allowed? By the way, what happened to the circuit breaker when this dude died?
  13. My (terrible) experiences not only in Thailand, but also Sri Lanka etc., have now taught me, that in third world countries, ONLY deal with Governments agencies (especially customs) with an agent involved! They are literally magicians, they can even let you know how much you have to pay, before the goods arrive, LOL! Otherwise, you may be stuck with severe headaches, heartaches, and a <deleted>load of wasted time and effort, all amounting to absolutely nothing, and in the end, have it all sorted out in minutes by an agent.
  14. As mikeymike100 said, it's less than 150 baht from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi, so why is Pattaya to Don Mueang double the price? And I believe there is a free shuttle bus from Swampy to Don Mueang, so you can do Pattaya to DM for less than 150 baht by adding an extra 30 minutes or so for the journey? I believe all long haul "buses" have toilets.
  15. I would do another eye test for exact power required for lenses, the specs change amazingly fast, especially if you're older.
  16. Wow! 3,000 baht investment over 2 years!
  17. Oh don't be silly transam, I'm sure even you know that cruise ships now are so large, and have automatic stabilizers to prevent any rolling movement etc. that seasickness is extremely rare on cruises these days.... BTW I had a Transam many years ago, 6.6 liter, fastest thing I ever drove!
  18. I second steven100's suggestion of a cruise, for many reasons including that you get to see a variety of countries on day trips, use an agent to help you with visas, but it should not be difficult because you are on a cruise, therefore probably a bonafide tourist. Also, on a cruise, she is safe to wander around the ship on her own without fear. If budget is a factor, then Vietnam has plenty of places to see for 10 or more days, and is quite cheap. Bon Voyage!
  19. I'm with the Greeks on this one. IMO, there's nothing more beautiful than a well proportioned young lady, nude, with no body markings whatsoever.
  20. A friend of mine in Pattaya is having trouble getting his tourist visa changed to any other type of visa, because of a one day overstay (not his fault, but because immigration not accepting his application on due date, but telling him to come next day). Can anybody suggest a reliable visa agent in Pattaya to help him with this issue, because I think it will entail a lot of visa related stuff like perhaps a border run, another Thai visa for entry, and then also perhaps a conversion to retirement (he is 61 years old). Thank you all!
