    Thai government schools are bad but not all teachers are bad. Visited a school outside Hua Hin recently where the teachers buy vegetables from their own pocket and help cook the food for the kids because there's no budget for a cook. Not surprised they can't wait to be transferred.

    I can foresee it now. Village individuals starts brewing. ThaiBev come along and offers good money for the business and they sell up. No passion in Thai business just make money.

    Much prefer cash so disappearing ATMs are a pain. Not sure about the cashless payment apps. Every time I read the news about money disappearing from an account I get put off.

    Yes, but that isn't happening and unless there is evidence, then innocent until proven guilty.

    Treating him differently from a normal person says something about the law. He should be treated equally with others charged with espionage. It is a serious crime.

    Juntas rarely declare their assets but it later turns out they were rather wealthy.

    Senator Grassley (89) can play the recording on Fox News any time he wants. But the old fogey obviously doesn't have damning evidence or he would have played it. Just the usual insinuations. (Note to self: Where exactly is the infamous Hunter Biden laptop? Haven't heard much recently.)

    I am not sure how old guys in this day and age denigrate women who enjoy life and get away with it. I get his insinuations but she may have a rich boyfriend, husband or parents. Chuwit doesn't say. Making insinuations just to hurt someone is just not on. I admit she may be the girlfriend of a high-ranking officer but that evidence isn't given. Just taking the piss out of a woman for what she does in her private (not official) life seems unethical.

    Thailand tries hard to balance superpowers and continue it's non-aligned stance. This will upset America i guess but tough nuts.

    A pity the junta members don't own media shares. They clearly know something MF didn't know

    The EC is in an awkward position. The law says no shares in media companies. It's not like they have much choice. If they decide holding media shares on behalf of someone else (AKA Thaksin's maid) is an honest mistake all well and good.

    The naivety is strong in this one. Even one share in a media company is illegal. Managing or controlling just one share means a court case.

    I think he was holding the shares in order to inform the authorities prior to the election. Clearly, he was aware he had them.

    Surprisingly, many countries haven't seen the advantage of attracting pensioners. Spending money but not taking jobs from locals. Paying higher than locals on medical costs. Importing foreign currency regularly. These should be seen as attractive to governments.

    No one is saying only oil companies are too blame (read my note again). The point was that they are spending millions to play global warming down. Farmers aren't doing that to the best of my knowledge.

    All the Big Oil companies are spending millions to play this down. Their executives probably all have grandchildren who will suffer because of their actions

    I usually wear in lifts or where a lot of people are squeezed together because people cough without covering their mouth.
