    Hardly a traditional part of Thai culture. It implies that for the thousand years prior to 1972, alcohol was perfectly acceptable all day. Still, you have to query people who cannot go 24 hours without a drink.

    Panic can result from doing something we wouldn't normally do. Seems to happen to people in a foreign country. There was that American woman Anne Sacoolas in the UK who killed a motorcyclist because she forgot the Brits drive on the left, who fled and never really faced justice. Happens everywhere. Doesn't mean it is a good idea.

    Extremely violent, no. But parents hitting small kids is wrong. If the girl's father had been there with Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson, the parents might have thought twice.

    This sensitive issue may be compared to Ireland in the early 1900s. The Irish, notably the IRA, fought the Black and Tans and were decried as terrorists. Then, they won the independence of Eire and were suddenly they were freedom fighters. Things may move in a similar direction in Palestine.

    It is hard to catch terrorists. They use Telegraph and other apps to make themselves anonymous. Then they also use iPhones. People cry, "Why aren't the security services protecting us?" "We can't follow them due to the first class encryption Apple uses." Is a blanket reply. I don't believe Apple is the only reason that security services can't spy on terrorists but the public should not have to allow their phones to be read.
