  1. I have the same problem, which is why I only use wired earphones. Why would you keep replacing them?
  2. It is a bit puzzling as the government is talking about income. I have a savings account that is so old money can’t be transferred electronically. So if I go and withdraw it as a cashiers cheque then how do I prove in Thailand that is not income from a job? I doubt the Thai government will do its own research.
  3. Yes, he went to prison. Three years for fraud. He and his driver were also shot while in his car. Such an arrogant fellow.
  4. It is always a good idea to support allies. While Israel did not officially support its allies militarily in Vietnam or Korea or Iraq (Desert Storm), they sent thoughts and prayers. They have always amply proven that they are true allies and deserve help.
  5. I remember it was Sondhi Limthongkul mainly who closed the airport whole proudly showing off to the press.
  6. The Bank of Thailand perhaps doesn't get the concept of free money, no paying back. It will be difficult to backtrack on this free gift.
  7. Weed seems to be the cause of all violence these days.
  8. Every new government tries to change things. The lack of consistency and longevity always creates failures. The education ministry received a large portion of the budget but the corruption eats up most of it. I know a school that has computers but no electricity to turn them on. Having soldiers and policemen at the helm doesn't help at all.
  9. This is very confusing as all other news reports state homicides in states, not counties.
  10. Tried to delete my reply but AN wouldn't allow that. I did see them mentioned. You were right.
  11. Er, no, they are not. See the list here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Aligned_Movement They are not listed.
  12. People forget that Thailand has been part of the non-aligned movement since 1993. That means it is not supposed to align itself with one country or another against others. Hopefully, it wont get dragged into a war between the USA and Russia, or the USA and China.
  13. Read an article today about how it is still not certain who bombed the hospital, as both sides quickly tried to blame the other side. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/18/what-is-israels-narrative-on-the-gaza-hospital-explosion?traffic_source=rss
  14. According to the lawyer the succession was "not in accordance with constitutional law and is also contrary to the Royal Thai Police Act to nominate a new commissioner general regardless of seniority and profile." I am surprise that Big Joke was expecting the post knowing this..
  15. Well, the complete article states, is going ahead in "blatant defiance of legal regulations" so I would not be too quick to condemn the local people. Such a pity the journalist couldn't be bothered to state, or summarize, the regulations referred to though.
  16. Yesterday it was weed, today it is games. Blamers got to blame.
  17. Interesting, as I don't use the rail service much and never noticed these guy when I did.
  18. Isn't/wasn't the Amanpuri in Phuket the place for celebrities to stay? Here's a more current list. https://online-phuket.com/celebreties-in-phuket
  19. Also noticed the same thing some time ago and desperately looked around to see whether anybody stood. Was dragged back down by a friend who whispered, "No one stands these days." When in Rome etc....
  20. Sometimes, I would like to read the educational level of these violent people.
  21. 1976 was a period of atrocities. Students raped, hung on Thamasart university trees and bayoneted. I just don't want students to use violence to overthrow any government. Why aren't people power politicians willing to gain power without showing their hand until it is too late and then change things quickly?
  22. I suppose the advantage of rising to the top job is that good pension is based on his final salary.
