Somehow, not surprised. Having worked with and known personally several government officers, they are frankly afraid of being sued if they don't follow the law, no matter how petty it seems to foreigners. The law states that MPs are not allowed to hold shares in a media company. It doesn't differentiate between 2 shares or 42,000 shares. * Thanathorn ignored this. Banned. * Peta ignored it - off to court. Peta held the shares for many years as an executor. Years during which he could have disbursed them to someone at any time.
