  1. It seems that you as well as hughrection did not read the full story or you both lack reading comprehension. In the first paragraph, after the bold-type header, is the name of the postal truck driver and his age. The second paragraph, describes how the accident occurred. The third paragraph, explains that the postal driver was taken to a hospital, after being cut out of the wreckage and that his deceased wife was in the front passenger seat. From the photograph of the scene and from reading the article, I ascertained that the husband and wife were in the RED truck which is the official color of "Thailand Post" vehicles and not the white truck, which has no extrication damage to the drivers side. My analyst was confirmed after reading the full report by clicking on the underlined Siam Rath at the end of the first paragraph.
  2. You should had taken the time to read the full report. The white truck was the one that crossed over and hit the mail transport. The injured husband and the body of his deceased wife were both extricated from the cab.
  3. You didn't mention where your water comes from (city, village or well) but your 3M filter system is rated at 5 microns. It would work best with a clean, clear water supply, but poor quality water would soon restrict the water flow. You could install a 5 micron "sediment" filter in the supply line as a pre-filter to trap the particles that are plugging the 3M unit. This would extend the life of the 3M cartridges. Another option is to replace the 3M unit with a multi-filter unit. This would the most economical and offer longer filter life. I have a 5-stage system similar to the picture you posted but Colandas brand. The water flows first thru a 5 micron sediment then 5 micron activated charcoal and resin filters then two 1 micron charcoal filters. Cost for a similar system depends on the brand you choose. Replacement Colandas filters for mine are around 300 baht a set.
  4. I don't see your mathematical formula being very accurate. I have over a dozen round black plastic trash cans in 3 different sizes (20-32 gal.)and the lids are all interchangeable. I only use them for rain-water storage for the flowers and garden. But if I wanted to buy trash bags, I don't need to do simple math because the volume size is imprinted on the bottom.
  5. You soak the wood in water for a few hours. When placed on the hot coals, the wet wood smolders creating smoke. Whatever you are cooking will absorb the aroma of the smoke. Just be sure the wood you chose is suitable for smoking.
  6. The cost to drill a well will vary depending on the area you live in and the water table level. I live near Mueang Surin and 18 months ago, I had a well drilled to a depth of 39 meter. The total cost was 18,000 baht which included the 5 inch casing, submersible pump, control box, all pipe and fittings needed to complete the installation.
  7. Checked my Mor Phom online certificate last week and it has my nationality as British/Scottish instead of US. I called them, but when I asked for an English speaker, they hung up.
  8. Best to contact your pension provider, if they will accept a lawyer's certification before proceeding . I suspect copies of the original documents and the translated English versions will all need to be certified. I have used a Thai lawyer's office in Surin to translate/certify Thai documents to English and US applications that were accepted by the IRS, my state DMV and local government agency in the US. The charge was 1,000 baht a page and I am sure the cost varies.
  9. And in additional to reading the small print, you must also be able to interpret measurements. The illustration shows the pan is 26cm wide and 8cm high. I estimate the flat cooking surface to be no more than 10-12cm across. Contrary to the sellers claim that the pan is compatible with induction cooking, I disagree. The heating surface on most induction cookers is around 18-20cm in diameter. For efficient cooking the pans flat bottom should cover as much of the heating surface as possible, which this pan wouldn't.
  10. I go to Panyar Dental Clinic. The female Dr-owner speaks English. The clinic is located on the street in front of Big C/Makro around 200 m East of Makro. It is on the left (North-side) and is painted pink/lavender/white.
  11. The above paragraph reveals the lack of proper maintenance resulted in your engine's failure. Suggesting that the dealers failure (3 days before) to check the oil level, should make them responsible is asinine, when by your own admission you hadn't checked it for a "few months".
  12. Actually, checking the box " funds for long term stay" on Wise might not guaranty it will arrive at your bank and be marked as an international transfer. At least it didn't for me. I've been using Wise for three years and until this year, never had any issues with international transfers identified on my bank statement But, as I was preparing to renew my marriage extension this past Nov, only 3 of my twelve monthly deposits on my BB statement from Dec 2020 to Nov 2021 were marked as international transfers. The other 9 were marked domestic transfers. This happened because "Wise" uses Dee Money, KTB and KKB, as intermediary banking partners, who then transferred the funds to my BB account. I found this out after downloading my pdf statements from Wise. After expressing my displeasure with a Wise cs agent, she edited my account and assured me that all future transaction would only be sent directly to my BB account. So far, my Dec and todays transfer have been direct deposits.
  13. Your wife has to have an ITIN (individual tax identification number) before you can claim her as a dependent. You can download the application form from the IRS website. You will file "married filing jointly". Your stepdaughter can not be claimed as a dependent. Six years ago, I needed certified copies of our original marriage certificate, the wife's birth certificate and her Thai ID card. I also needed these 3 documents translated into English and certified. I had this done at a local lawyer's office. I filled out the application form and my wife signed her name in Thai script and printed it in English. Took a little over 8 weeks turn around to get the ITEN.
  14. The size, shape or color of a pill or capsule has no effect. Each of the pills you're comparing contain 400 mg of Ibuprofen.
  15. It will be "well" cooked and eaten over the next few weeks. One of our neighbors buffalos fell over in a rice field and broke a leg. It was slaughtered and processed right where it fell.
  16. I have deposited US and State tax refund checks into my BB account with immediate access to the funds. I wouldn't think there would be a problem with cashiers checks, but you probably should first check with BB, before your sister sends it.
  17. https://www.xbox.com/en-US/regions As soon as you connect to xbox servers they know your location.
  18. Another option is drilling your own well. In the past, we had low pressure or no water for 2-3 days from the village supplied well. Last year, I had a 39 meter well drilled, pvc pipe lined with a 3 inch submersible pump installed at a total cost of 18,000 baht. I then installed two 1,000 liter Dos tanks, a Hitachi pump and a 4-stage water filter system for another 16,000 baht.
  19. IM officers have visited our home only 1 time and that was during the 1st consideration period 6 years ago.
  20. That interview was more than 6 months before the Covid-19 pandemic began.
  21. It seems that in every topic about Thailand's lack of English or proficiency, there are always posters having a go at America and our English. I can generally judge posters level of English deficiency from reading their posts. If they're not misusing break for brake or there, their or they're, then they are typing long continuous content without correct punctuation or sentence structure. As an example, posting 22 lines of text within 5 paragraphs using multiple commas, while having only 5 periods, should maybe conceal the fact he had 15 years of teaching experience.
  22. The terminology you used (above ground) to described your proposed tank installation, should actually be "on ground". The term "above ground" generally defines an elevated tower installation. I personally, would not recommend using the plastic pallets in the picture for an on ground tank installation. There is always a risk the pallet may fail. Water weighs 1 kg per liter and any tank falling over would probably rupture the tank, destroy the piping and possibly more, plus the inconvenience.
  23. I have debit cards from KT, KK and BB, all without a cardholder name. No issues with online purchases or card readers.
  24. We live near Surin and our daughter works the front desk at The Gun Hotel. The area is relatively quiet with minimal street traffic. There are 2 food, drink and entertainment areas within a 5-10 minute walk. There is a covered, lighted concrete parking area for bikes and motorcycles, near the front entrance with cameras. There are also 2 sister hotels, the Gun Hotel 8 and Gun Hotel Premium. All 3 of their properties rent rooms daily and long term. Surin has numerous hotels that rent rooms long term due to low tourist travelers. The logistics of booking rooms in each of the cities you plan to stay may be a nightmare.
