I am a expat in Thailand and have obtained a bank statement for the last 15 years for my 1 year marriage extension. All Thai banks provide statement upon request, you can also update your bank passport on a regular basis to record your transactions.

Never had a problem with transferring stamps to a new passport. They only transferred the last relevant stamps that kept my status here until they expired and upto renewal. Stamps more than a year old were not transferred.

I've no need to wonder as I have been in rural Thailand for 15 years. To the best of my knowledge only Thai immigration offices can issue a 1 year marriage extension. I have done 15 marriage extensions at a immigration office and the list of requirements is long. You need your bank book updated on the day of application showing the 400,000 baht in the account or a bank statement showing 12 monthly deposits over 40,000 baht each if using the income method. I have never heard of anyone getting a marriage extension at VFS.
