I was in Lucifer a couple of months ago and it was full and I had a great time with my 2 companions. I guess it's like everywhere, 1 night it's busy the next it's not...

My daughter is in the local hospital with the same throat problems. Her heavy hacking resulted in a increased heartbeat upto 145. After the initial 24 hours her heart rate has dropped dramatically to near normal levels. I blame the smog as in PM2.5 particules in the air at the moment. We live in rural Isaan. Worst in 15 years here, I have even had the odd coughing bout but nowhere near my daughter's level. Sadly the Muppets just pay lip service to the whole problem of burning off...

I recently registered with my local revenue office here in Isaan last week. Provided passport, yellow house book, pink ID card. The paper I received back includes the 10 digit tax number and your yellow book, pink card ID number so the 2 are linked. I've only done it just in case when the final criteria for inclusion in being taxed here is released and my circumstances qualify, I will be ready.

Not the way Thais think as they have zero common sense or logic. If you are a newbie it's all the more easy to extract the maximum amount...

I just show my pink ID card. Haven't shown a passport checking into a hotel in years here.

Having just spent 4 days in Bangkok and the same in Pattaya I can confirm that Pattaya was considerably cheaper. Bangkok hotel 1450 baht a night. Pattaya hotel 740 baht a night. Small Leo in Bangkok 120-150 baht, non happy hour price. Small Leo in Pattaya 80-90 baht. Etc...

Direct flights are nearly always more expensive. Try via Qatar, Dubai etc Often only a 1 hour or so change of planes at the halfway point to BKK.
