  1. If this was true it would imply no need for actual Tourist Visas.
  2. In 30 years of coming to Thailand regularly, I have *never once* had to show an onward ticket at arrival immigration.

  4. Public Park Soi Chaiyapruek 4 (Nong Phong) https://maps.app.goo.gl/6iCmtVGEg4JMmhuE6
  5. This crazy self-righteous woman terrorising tourists and scolding ordinary folk trying to support their family.
  6. Everybody is wacked and most are total hypocrites. That would be depressing, if true. One good thing about the rise of social media is the availability online of smart, thoughtful, respectful debate and discussion about all the nonsense. Check out Konstantin Kisin and his YouTube channel Triggernometry. He does great interviews with some really intelligent thinkers.
  7. I BEG YOU - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!!!! Thailand is neutral and a lovely place to come and get away from the world. One of the great things about Pattaya is so many cultures and nationalities (mostly) getting on and 'live and let live' in this crazy wonderful city. To wear something that is deliberately provocative shows complete disregard for the peaceful status quo here, and disregard for Pataya's citizens who want to keep it that way. Please don't preach about standing up for what you believe in - this is a holiday resort - keep your beliefs outside. Come, enjoy, live and let live. Don't provoke. It only takes a few lamebrains to start a big snowball effect. That would be bad. Thankyou for understanding.
  8. SKRILL is easy to join and easy to use. Delivery is quick and often near instantaneous. You can send from a debit card or a credit card. Maybe not the cheapest but very reliable.
  9. OP thanks for the interesting post and I immediately understood what you were saying. ????
  10. Yes, in my late 20’s, working on a huge project bid (many millions) that had to submitted by the deadline. Adrenaline and coffee kept the focus, plus jogging round the staff car park in the middle of the winter night. Got it done. Then went to pub and feel asleep without touching my beer!
  11. Yes in KL in 2009... Was hospitalised... A very bad experience. Out of the worst after 10 days. I never got any kind of depression though, so don't know anything about that... Good luck.
  12. Yes. I use AIS and top up via their app on my phone. Works well. * Don't use a tourist SIM, it will expire. Get one from the AIS store in the mall... I still get SMS without paying for roaming package.
  13. I do this for multiple locations. It's easy. First use a VPN to go to Google and make a new email account, as an Australian. Second, add that account to your phone as a Google account. Third, in PlayStore select the relevant account for the country you want. From my experience, once you have the right geolocated Google account on your phone, you don't need a VPN after that. Just to confirm.. the above works for me and I can access PlayStore apps for UK, UAE, Singapore, and Thailand just by switching to the right account on my phone... ????????
  14. Exactly... What a numpty. I put my Omega away and wear a Gshock or Seiko instead. Singapore is the only place in SEasia I'd wear an expensive watch in the street.
  15. There are two things I am slow to criticise. A man's choice of work, and his choice of woman.
  16. Agree... The site is almost unusable on my phone because the pop-ups are so obtrusive. I didn't mind it before, but recently they've got so large. I switched from Chrome to Firefox with ad-blocker - works fine now.
  17. I second this. Never understood the snobbery about pineapple on pizza. If customers want it, why not? Ignoring demand is not good business. Personally I like pineapple, together with lots and lots of chillies on Hawaiian... Tastes great.
  18. Presumably it's one of the speedboats taking customers to Koh Larn .. beaches used to be quite busy there but I haven't been recently.
  19. I got a small ceramic knife sharpener in Villa market at Pattaya Avenue. Absolutely brilliant and much better than the old style metal disk type. Easy to use and great results.
  20. My iPad is loaded with e-books and I download new ones all the time. Use Google Play Books. Super convenient. Prefer hard copy books of course. But haven't bought one for years. The choice to read books is personal. You just need to make it a priority use of your time. Same as the choice to go for a walk, the gym, to socialise, or whatever.
  21. Could you point us to the evidence on this? It seems counterintuitive that longer opening doesn't increase profits.. ????
