  1. Yes in KL in 2009... Was hospitalised... A very bad experience. Out of the worst after 10 days. I never got any kind of depression though, so don't know anything about that... Good luck.
  2. Yes. I use AIS and top up via their app on my phone. Works well. * Don't use a tourist SIM, it will expire. Get one from the AIS store in the mall... I still get SMS without paying for roaming package.
  3. I do this for multiple locations. It's easy. First use a VPN to go to Google and make a new email account, as an Australian. Second, add that account to your phone as a Google account. Third, in PlayStore select the relevant account for the country you want. From my experience, once you have the right geolocated Google account on your phone, you don't need a VPN after that. Just to confirm.. the above works for me and I can access PlayStore apps for UK, UAE, Singapore, and Thailand just by switching to the right account on my phone... ????????
  4. Exactly... What a numpty. I put my Omega away and wear a Gshock or Seiko instead. Singapore is the only place in SEasia I'd wear an expensive watch in the street.
  5. There are two things I am slow to criticise. A man's choice of work, and his choice of woman.
  6. Agree... The site is almost unusable on my phone because the pop-ups are so obtrusive. I didn't mind it before, but recently they've got so large. I switched from Chrome to Firefox with ad-blocker - works fine now.
  7. I second this. Never understood the snobbery about pineapple on pizza. If customers want it, why not? Ignoring demand is not good business. Personally I like pineapple, together with lots and lots of chillies on Hawaiian... Tastes great.
  8. Presumably it's one of the speedboats taking customers to Koh Larn .. beaches used to be quite busy there but I haven't been recently.
  9. I got a small ceramic knife sharpener in Villa market at Pattaya Avenue. Absolutely brilliant and much better than the old style metal disk type. Easy to use and great results.
  10. My iPad is loaded with e-books and I download new ones all the time. Use Google Play Books. Super convenient. Prefer hard copy books of course. But haven't bought one for years. The choice to read books is personal. You just need to make it a priority use of your time. Same as the choice to go for a walk, the gym, to socialise, or whatever.
  11. Could you point us to the evidence on this? It seems counterintuitive that longer opening doesn't increase profits.. ????
  12. I pay 300bht pm for unlimited internet at 20mb/s. AIS package.
  13. "Dealing with high inflation and rising costs of raw materials, wages, energy, and fuel prices" It's the same for everyone mate, not just Thailand. You increase prices here, and tourists will just go elsewhere.
  14. Very helpful and concise, thankyou DrJack If I am staying in my own condo, not a hotel or rented accomodation, what to do about TM30?
  15. I second both these brands. Been my go-to's for a long time.
  16. The bad news is your immunity is only to the one type of Dengue you had; you can still get the other three! By the way, regards the earlier posts re Bangkok.. I got Dengue in KL a few years ago.. and I hadn't left the city centre for a long while. They also have dengue outbreaks in other conurbations eg Singapore. I can't see Bangkok being any different.
  17. Yes this is the way .. I have Gmail accounts for UK, UAE, Thailand, and Singapore.. Just select the country I want in Play Store.
  18. Use an app like Waze for detailed directions and timings. If you need to view a navigation or other app from a location different to where you are right now, use a GPS spoofer or emulator to trick your phone.
  19. I'll pay for quality, not for brand. Marks and Spencer's shirts, Next jeans, Skechers shoes. Nonexistent/below the radar branding but quality and built to last.
  20. Pain is a message, listen to it. I had a knee injury many years ago that prevents me running, and for me too cycling gets painful. Walking suits me perfectly - my machine has adjustable incline. Set it to 15% uphill and as brisk walking speed as you can manage. As well as your heart, your leg muscle groups will really tell you about it.. (Lifts a saggy as.s too!)
