for freezing put the whites into an ice cube holder then freeze. Once frozen put them into a zip-lock bag to be used as needed.

- Try rinsing the rice as many times as necessary until the water runs clear, really clear then the starch has gone.

- If no vent hole on the lid then try to prop the lid open with a small implement to allow the steam to escape. The photo seems to show the lid is lifting through cooking process.

For what its worth, I did the Thai wife Non O border hop at Ban Phu Nam Ron yesterday, and now pay 960 THB and get a new TM6 card before exiting Thailand. Previous time I paid in the small restaurant after exit stamp.

For sure the most friendly Immigration officers I have ever met.

Anyone know of a tasty cheddar for baking? I tried the Mainline twice now (for quiche Lorraine and then cheese n onion pasties) and it comes out of the oven very greasy-like.

Even upon opening the packet the cheese felt wet.

Would an Edam or Gouda bake better?

The wife will pick at cheese only so not looking for bulk. I live in BKK suburbs BTW.

I need to leave the country before 5th Sept as I hold a Non O (Thai wife) visa, is it still only passport required and 950 THB at Ban Phu Nam Ron Kanchanaburi?

BTW, I know this border is about 4 hours from BKK but is this crossing the only one within about 6 hours driving from BKK as I may stay 1 night if another location.

I bought some in Villa Suk 33 (Bkk) for a friend a few years ago.

Could corn syrup be a substitute?

Villa Market either Sukhumwit 33 or Thong-lor IMHO. (Walkers crisps, Irn Bru and Tizer amongst other types of pop. Branston's pickle, colemans mustard etc + what you metioned)

Never any Atora suet though for dumplings...such a shame.
