  1. Just read here recently that 'TAT celebrates higher tourist number than expected'... 11 million tourists isn't bad for an Asian country of Thailand's size, but I guess all those Malaysian, Laotian, and Indian tourists are no big fans of Mr. Heinecke's pizza and hotels...
  2. Copying Chinese gigantomania, where railway stations are excessively large, and it takes you a long time to walk from one end to the other? (Same for lack of toilets, luggage trolleys, sign boards, etc.)
  3. When a million-dollar signboard creates a problem and political repercussions...
  4. I'm currently in Down Under. If I eat fish & chips, rather than lamb chops, I often order Hoki (blue grenadier), a succulent fish, also used by McDonald's in its Filet-O-Fish. Back to the topic, living in Thailand during the pandemic, I also reduced my red meat consumption, but it was easy, while saying 'no' to red meat is much harder here due to the better quality.
  5. May, might, could... Still doesn't explain the story about 27,000 baht, and the right/wrong visa. Do I need a particular visa when possessing E-cigarettes?? And what was it about the Korean girls, were they possessing them to?
  6. I love fish and chips, but not easy to get my hands on it in Thailand.
  7. Sadly a growing trend worldwide, rowdies attacking ambulance drivers, firemen, etc., while they do their duty...
  8. With your coins in the ear you get more interest...
  9. Years ago I saw younger guys with 10-baht coins in their ear. (Probably easier to keep it there than 6 baht 50...)
  10. Yesterday white bread, today red meat... Will we discuss here tomorrow whether potato chips are unhealthy? (Also, should 'Asean Now' be renamed 'Healthy Nutrition Now'?)
  11. That doesn't mean that they cannot be reinfected by new variants. And emergence of new variants among so many cases is quite likely.
  12. Wasn't the word earlier that they are 'too heavy, complicated, and not suitable'? What has changed?
  13. Imagine they found out that Thailand is not the centre of the Earth...
  14. Complimentary from the cops, as a 'thank you' for the generous donation to the 'New cars and Mia Noi Fund'...
  15. I read somewhere that new uniforms are being discussed. There you go...
  16. Welcome to Thailand (or not). Thailand doesn't seem to care much about Taiwanese these days, but more about tour groups from the People's Republic...
  17. I think it was Joseph Goebbels to asked that question, but otherwise you're right.
  18. I read that Ukraine is already asking for fighter jets. What's next, ballistic missiles? - Maybe just a question of time till the West/NATO gets directly involved.
  19. Well, for these expensive items to be absolutely 'safe' in Thailand, they would have to be locked away, but I guess, no 'life saving' purpose then.
  20. So, how about the wife? Doesn't she have the (same) blood type O?
  21. Doesn't make sense. If you have to find the donor(s) yourself, what is there to replace? Strange system! So, if I get into an accident, and need a blood transfusion, I will first have to look for donors??
  22. The wife's plan to go to the local hospital seems right, as the 'patient' is probably supposed to go there. Aren't hospitals in Thailand in charge to get the 'right blood'?
