Once more, just in time to make one forget the news about shakedowns... Strange (and lucky) how these happy events, involving the BiB, always happen only days after 'bad news'. Also, lucky that earlier (extortion) news weren't about millions, or the returned watch this time would have to be worth a billion baht...

With few exceptions (e.g. Filipinos), there are no expat communities. After all, everyone is more or less a "tourist", being required to renew their visa status at least once a year. Also no clubs, meeting opportunities, etc., and many are probably not interested in social bonds anyway...

Glad to see that predicted numbers are rising again. I was almost worried why there wasn't an upgrade over the past two weeks, but I'm sure that, towards the end of this year, the forecasts will be in the 80 to 100 million range (well above actual tourist numbers anyway)... ???? Also, I'm happy for Thailand that, supposedly, each of the tourists (from toddlers to grannies) will spend 100,000 baht over their one-week stay in Thailand. (I myself am looking forward to my gold-leaf breakfasts while there.)

Have you heard that people in Thailand without Thai ID cannot use PayPal?
