One week later my ATM card was stolen right in front of the checkout. Was in my backpocket, and I only realised it back home. Later more things were stolen from me. Never experienced having so many things stolen from me in such a short time.

Yes, I use Zoom like 'never'. After trying a few times, and uninstalling a few other apps that I actually need, I had the necessary 1.1GB free on my phone to be able to download this app that I may need twice a year...

100% agree. I see a high fluctuation of staff in other jobs all the time; hotels, shops, etc. Even a good number of food hawkers throw in the towel after a few weeks, or months. On the other hand, bar girls, massage girls, and freelancers work the same profession, and often the same work places for years, or even decades! Easy work, very good money, and no office politics... If there is one 'secure career' in Thailand, it's the one where they just lie down and spread their legs...

Something doesn't quite add up... All the time news about rapidly shrinking inflation; supposedly close to zero now, while the central bank, at the same time, is still raising their policy rate. - Either the guys at the central bank are complete morons, or the inflation figures are, at best, flawed, and at worst, bogus. Looking at price rises at supermarkets recently tells me it must be the latter. (To name one example, salad dressing I used to buy is up more than 100% in one year.)

Try Thailand, where, as a retired expat, one is required to have 2,191.78 Thai baht (€57.23) in the bank for each day of staying there (if one applies for a retirement visa extension), of which, for almost half the time, not even 1 Thai baht (€0.026) can be used to pay for daily expenses...

Ah, a bag again. Hope a man was not involved in its disappearance. Wonder, whether it was even real. Someone once gave me a fake Harrods bag here in Thailand. Took it to China as a shopping bag. Used it there once, or twice, cause it was stolen shortly after, right there in the middle of Walmart. (We were two, standing only a foot or two away, browsing the shelves... Gone in a minute!) I didn't know back then how rampant theft is in China.

That, nowadays, applies to any corner of the globe, incl. Thailand.

That 'high season' has been going on for roughly 10 years now...

I met a girl in Pattaya earlier this year, who liked me, and wanted to stay long-time with me. Hours later her "sister" called her, we went for lunch, met the "sister", the two girls disappeared for a while, and during that time that "sister" must have convinced her to 'get rich doing STs around the clock' instead. All those ST hoo***s all over Thailand must be millionaires by now... LOL
