  1. Holocaust, organ harvesting, re-education camps and forced labour, so what? If everyone had 'kept their noses out of' Kampuchea's affairs, it would probably be depopulated today, but, thankfully, Vietnam intervened...
  2. More and more Chinese think like that (if you believe YouTube reports), but it, probably, won't happen anytime soon. I remember watching on TV that courageous man standing in front of tanks near Tiananmen Square in 1989. (I'm convinced, if 2 or 3 million Chinese acted like that man back then, the CCP's days would be numbered...) Sadly, Chinese in 2024 don't seem to have such courage, so the world will probably have to wait till this maniac starts a war, and is consequently disposed of by his comrades due to the high losses... I'm not worried about Trump, although he's been giving Western democracy a bad name in the world. We live in interesting times...
  3. Studying Xi Jinping's crap ideology, if not spending too much time per week on it, could actually be beneficial for the young person's critical thinking skills (if exposed to outside knowledge to). More worrisome are probably the low quality of education, large and noisy classes, and the dubious canteen food, not to mention the large number of strange infections going around recently, purposefully hidden by the government.
  4. Yes, I am kinda outraged. Usually it is the opposite; when I want to buy beer, I cannot, and no money, or whatever will make a difference... Who wants to schedule one's beer-buying to their stupid selling times? Just don't sell to minors; works fine everywhere else. Wonder, what they'd do if they ever wanted to stop young teenagers riding motorcycles; stop all sales and rentals of bikes?
  5. 'Actress Ava Six Scenes' - That's quite a mouthful. Better to shorten it to Actress ASS...
  6. Impoverished? No. It's not about 'free', but fast. My visa doesn't matter, as I need it for foreign clients, so it's no work, or whatever in Thailand.
  7. Need a package to do video-conferencing (Google Meet, Zoom).
  8. Thanks. Looking into this. But I'd need a place that opens 8.30 in the morning. Guess, Starbucks won't open that early.
  9. I'm in the same boat (Bangkok). My landlady outright refused to do the TM30. I did it online. Then it was time for my first TM47. My earlier self-report was declined, and I was asked to do another TM30. In addition I was fined 800 baht. (The IO receiving my "late" TM30 was not at all interested in the fact that my landlady was breaking the law, but, instead, seemed to enjoy fining me.)
  10. I don't have a dual SIM. Using my android as a hotspot, I noticed that the shared internet connection on my laptop is slow, i.e. not enough for larger files to download. I could sign up for an "unlimited package for 7 days". - My question is, would the internet connection of my laptop be 'unlimited' too, i.e. have the same speed as on my android?
  11. I admit that I'm not very tech-savvy. Yes, I could sign up for packages with my provider (DTAC), using my android as a hotspot for my laptop. My question is, would the internet speed this way work 1:1 on my laptop?
  12. I tried McDonald's wifi, but it either didn't work (most of the time), or it was very slow.
  13. Where can I find such a place? Time: 9 a.m., Bang Kae or Silom.
  14. I think, I need a crash-course laptops and notebooks for dummies... Supposedly very similar, with the notebooks just a bit thinner and lighter? So, why are laptops much more expensive (3 or four times the price of a notebook)? Also, any opinion about the Fujitsu LifeBook A574/M?
  15. Actually, I'll need it for online meetings, and my android won't do for that purpose.
  16. Thanks. I will check out Fortune Town. My budget is less than 10,000 baht (if possible).
  17. Anyone have experience with the Lenovo IdeaPad 1i (15", Gen 7)?
  18. Great advice, thanks. I had an Acer laptop in the past. Will check out Lotus's (which branch) and BananaIT. (I don't know JIB.) How about MBK; a good place to buy a cheap laptop?
  19. I don't really care about the brand. I just want to use it for online apps like Zoom, Viper, Whatsapp, etc.
  20. Where to buy a new, cheap laptop in Bangkok?
  21. I had a very high opinion of the Chinese and their culture before I travelled to, and lived in mainland China. I still have respect for the traditional Chinese culture, say, in Hong Kong, or Taiwan. However, it is my impression that the Chinese on the mainland have changed, losing a lot of their culture, traditions, and moral codes, thanks to China's history since 1949.
  22. What other people, men and women, spit all over the place, thinking it is the most normal thing in the world?
  23. It's understandable on temple grounds where everyone is asked to wear long sleeves and pants. But on Sanam Luang? C'mon!
