  1. I agree. If you can't get a lower price, it's either pay up, or, as you suggested, find an organisation (to let them make the decision about the cat's fate).
  2. Why are many Thais so short? Because their parents told them: "When you grow up, you will have to get a job and work."
  3. Experienced that do. Easy to use the data later. For the TM.30, perhaps?
  4. Not really worried. I expect it to be messy, though. Should it have implications in regards to visas, I'm ready to leave. Also, not receiving a pension yet, and while Thailand was on the list of countries to have my pension transferred to, it now is off the list.
  5. Showing the true face of this government. All for the Well-To-Do minority, as usual...
  6. On a recent Pattaya trip I had two such safes in my room; none of which could be used, as the keys provided didn't fit.
  7. Nothing wrong with walking around at night with the equivalent of 60k cash in Japan, but he clearly didn't do research on his holiday destination...
  8. Not just in the third world. Spent some time in Australia; while some tour companies and hotels charged a fair rate, a few used the opportunity to overcharge by using a rate more reminiscent of a cash currency exchange rate (for online bookings that is)...
  9. Some Thais even wear masks driving alone in their car.
  10. Spot on. Why does everyone on a motorbike (e.g. three people, three helmets) wear a helmet in Phnom Penh/Cambodia, but not in Bangkok? (It's not that Thais are poorer, but perhaps Cambodian cops take their job more seriously than Thailand's finest...
  11. As if the Israeli army needed mercenaries from Thailand... LOL
  12. If I get an oil massage, I want 'more', and not all places offer such extra services.
  13. Begs the question, unless one has been offered a well-paid job as an expert, 'Why?' - Why not southern Europe, the Caribbean, or Mexico instead?
  14. Despite this webpage being called 'Asean Now', it still seems to be, say, 98% about Thailand... Why are the forums about the other ASEAN countries basically deserted? It would be nice to discuss other countries in the region too, so that the name change from 'Thai Visa' doesn't seem pointless...
  15. As I mentioned earlier, my experience has been the opposite of yours, so perhaps it depends on an IOs discretion...
  16. I've seen plenty of Chinese tourists in Oz, NZ, Malaysia, and Singapore this year. But not as many in Thailand as there used to be.
  17. Yes, who in Thailand wouldn't want to party hearty all through the night till 4 a.m., sipping water after 2 a.m. ...
  18. Amazing Thailand! If I can only order a beer until 2 a.m., but wanna party at the club until 4 a.m., do I have to take very small sips from my beer till 4 a.m., or should I, perhaps, switch to milk? LOL - Perhaps they should use the prohibition ruse, and serve alcohol in tea cups...
  19. The ones in Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, and other major tourist places will be very busy...
  20. As someone mentioned, not spending more than 179 days a year in any one country. (There are pros and cons, of course.)
  21. No, they don't. I extended SETV visas many times, but they never asked for a TM.30.
  22. It happened to me about 20 years ago, so my explanation would be that either the procedure in this regard changed, or that the IOs have discretion to decide this (which would be disturbing).
