  1. Not my experience. Perhaps Immigration doesn't get your "common sense". How often have you gone through Immigration on the last day of your visa, while your flight was after midnight? - I tell you what, I have once...
  2. I guess, for Immigration, you're not 'leaving' the country until your plane departs...
  3. No, I'm not. Was stamped out before midnight. Still got the dreaded 'overstay' stamp, as, same as the OP's visa, mine expired only a few hours before my flight.
  4. It doesn't work like that. I thought so too; left well before midnight, but still got an 'overstay' stamp in my passport, cause my flight was scheduled for 2 a.m., or so, the next morning...
  5. If your flight departs after your visa (etc.) runs out, you will be on overstay for one day, no matter what time you pass through Immigration. No overstay charge for this "one day" if leaving via an airport. You will probably be ushered away to the overstay office to get an 'overstay' stamp, so better to plan for a bit more time.
  6. Good to know, thanks.
  7. Then it's either lower now, or I paid too much...
  8. Have they warned all Scandinavian expats to 'stay warm' again?
  9. Yes, just like the Kims in North Korea, the Marcos's in the Philippines, and the 'Docs' in Haiti. - Name of prime ministers in 2030 and 2040? Probably both starting with 'S' and ending in 'a'...
  10. One, as the other 1.5 are only puppets...
  11. Thai customs: "Guns from abroad? Mai bpen rai..." - Yeah, right!
  12. Apologies. I forgot that some people don't understand sarcasm. After all, they mentioned 'winter in Thailand'... I know there are three seasons in Thailand, but winter is not one of them.
  13. Yes, I always wanted to go skiing in Thailand, but an email to the TAT as for the best ski resorts went unanswered...
  14. No, but it would be interesting to attempt booking the flight to see whether the price, without the taxes, stays at 5$. Strange that airlines currently offer tickets at such low rates to fill the planes, unless they have trouble paying for the landing fees, etc.
  15. That's a pretty good deal. They are practically giving the tickets away. And yes, on short distances, these days, all those airport- and other taxes often make up half the ticket price. I presume one has to pay extra for even one bag?
  16. Talking about things some Thai males like to do to their peckers... https://thethaiger.com/news/national/thai-man-seeks-skilled-doctor-to-treat-penis-infection-after-enlargement-procedure
  17. Reportedly, 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 damage was done...
  18. Well, at least Thai calculators probably won't see an export boom ("... a contraction of 1-2%, slightly lower than the previous 0.5-2% contraction.")... - Yes, if I lose 100-200 baht, I will have more money left than if I lost 50-200 baht! LOL
  19. In Thailand, programmed by a Thai "engineer"? - No, thanks. But I might give it a shot in a few select countries.
  20. Met a girl (early 20s), I had known earlier, in Pattaya many years ago. She was really pretty, but that night not on the take, as she was busy pimping out two 17-year-old girls near Walking Street. I wasn't interested, and neither were other guys who talked to her...
  21. Seconded. Should we know about the past and what went terribly wrong; absolutely! Should representatives of former colonial powers apologise; of course... But how many times for events that happened 60 or 100 years ago, and for things that were done (or suffered) by people who are not longer among the living? Why so much apologising recently for things that happened (a) hundred(s) (of) years ago? - Don't we have enough political and environmental problems today that we should talk about, rather than spending so much time pondering 'what went wrong' such along time ago?
  22. Because it's a complicated process, apparently. (I can only refer to Changwattana in Bangkok, though...) Person 1 hands out numbers, if you're early, and you have to line up far from the entrance. Then, when they open, everyone hurries to the doors, where one has to line up again, while person 2 calls out/checks numbers. Going inside, one has to line up again to have docs checked, and given a number. After 90 to 120 minutes of waiting, number gets called, again documents get thoroughly checked, and also up to 10min. pass while the IO checks the documents, and updates everything in the computer. One gets a new number, and asked to wait outside, usually 30 to 60min. - Passport and docs pass through several hands, checked and re-checked over and over, before being ready to get stamped by, dunno, person number 15? - Highly effective process, which Immigration in Jomtien surely has to follow too...
