  1. Only because people want to vote for someone does not prove he/she isn't nuts...
  2. Maybe because, officially, we are 'tourists' or "aliens", not residents or expats. (That's why an expat couple with kids, going on 5 overseas trips/year will make up a good junk of the 'yearly tourist arrivals' statistics when coming back to Thailand...)
  3. Neither the Thai educational system, nor Thai students are interested in 'World History'. I base that on my year-long teaching experience in Thailand: Interested in world affairs/European history: - Thai students (particularly in the Thai educational system): perhaps 1%, - Expat kids (from all corners of the world, incl. Asia), living in Thailand: more than 95%.
  4. Put them in uniforms and ship them off to Taiwan or Guam as cannon fodder for the war to come...
  5. The problem in Thailand is that business owners don't care whether their staff is rude to customers, as (in their mind) it is easier to get new customers than new staff... In other countries rude staff might get fired, but not in Thailand, as it would be difficult to quickly hire new staff.
  6. Very likely. I had to go through 3 interviews on 3 trips to Thailand in a row back in late 2019/early 2020. I presume that such a "mark", as you call it, from the first airport immigration triggered a second interview (almost denied entry) at the second airport, and after that even at a land border. My solution was to spend more than half a year elsewhere. No problems when arriving after that.
  7. We've been that, at least, for the past 20 years, so what's the news?
  8. Maybe her Thai boyfriend needed money...
  9. Not only this, but putting most of one's eggs into the Chinese basket might not help either, as the Chinese economy reportedly is stagnating.
  10. No (good) money in Thai country music to be made it seems... Brown envelopes fuller than (fill in a colour) envelopes for singers?
  11. If things I touch turn to gold, I'll be rich this year...
  12. As long as politicians don't drink pee...
  13. Spot on. 15 or 20 years ago the beach promenade was just lovely. Then they started to dig it up frequently... Wonder how many visitors (= income) that cost them.
  14. There is, most probably, a paper slip stapled onto your last passport page which has this information.
  15. Do you have a link for that? All links I found did not work.
  16. That was about doing the TM30 report online by myself. I checked, and copies of such need to be upoaded by the landlord (or me).
  17. As I stated, my landlady in Bangkok outright refuses to do the TM30 report. And as I don't have the 'Blue Book', I cannot do it by myself.
  18. Yes. Extension at Pattaya office, now staying in Bangkok. Do I need a TM30 for my TM47, or not?
  19. Yes. Because I'm longer than 90 days in Thailand, and there is a little note on paper stapled to my passport 'Do 90-day report until...'
  20. Same here. Never for an extension, or visa change. Then again, never did a 90-day report before. That's why I'm asking...
  21. You mean, maybe pay 800 baht, but released from showing TM30?
  22. I have a NI "Retirement" extension. My first 90-day report is due soon. My landlady refuses to do the TM30 report. What can I do to get a suitable TM30 report for my TM47 report? I am willing to use an agent in Bangkok or Pattaya, if the TM30 report can be waived. I understand that I cannot do the TM30 report by myself, as I don't have access to the owner's Blue Book.
  23. I am currently in Bangkok, but got problems here, as my landlady refuses to even do the TM30 report.
  24. An agent I contacted messaged me 'not needed'. She refused to tell me the price for such a service, though.
