  1. When did the TAT ever care about anything than the total number of tourists and the money they spend? Being concerned about the safety of tourists? Only if it was heavily discussed in social media, if at all.
  2. Judging from what I constantly see in both, Bangkok and Pattaya, they get fed, and not little, by locals. No wonder, they become aggressive, and multiply.
  3. Yes, that’s where I’m currently staying. Power was back 5 hours later.
  4. The flight may be ‘quick’, but add travel to the airport, and having to be there 3 hours early (x2), plus waiting for the return flight, and your ‘quick trip’ becomes a whole-day trip.
  5. I wouldn’t call it a boom. Saw way more tourists in the past, even 22 years ago when I went there for the first time. Few families, good number of Russian couples and solo travellers, groups of Indians, small tour groups from China, couple of Africans, and lots of, mostly older, single Westerners...
  6. Yeah, bloody hot for five hours.
  7. Yes, but it was the whole building, and surrounding ones as well.
  8. Here, near Pattaya Klang Rd. too, and again today for 5 hours.
  9. I’m on holiday. Kind of hotel.
  10. Yep, you're right. Still after more than 4 hours!
  11. Anyone else experiencing an ongoing power-shortcut this morning, since it started raining about 2 hours ago, if you're staying in Central Pattaya?
  12. Maybe being recycled like the passport copies at Chaengwattana for 'Do not overstay' forms...
  13. Amazing Thailand. Even in Muslim countries they're shaking their heads... Also, considering that Facebook isn't a Thai company, what is their justification? Maybe the day will come that they block FB, Twitter, YouTube, Google, etc., following their overlords' example.
  14. So, none of them ever made it to the Hollywood Pub in Bang Lamung?
  15. Yes, but they don't make headlines anymore.
  16. In what way is it relevant that the attacked person is "the brother of a Thai singer"? Was the Thai singer present, or was he the reason for the attack? (Perhaps, the Jordanian man didn't like the singing??) Thank god, the brother's maid's uncle's wife's stepson's girlfriend, who, by the way, likes to sing too, was safe, as she, at the time, wasn't anywhere near the condominium...
  17. There’s still the killed and injured victims.
  18. LOL. Have yet to read: “Thai bus driver stayed put after accident, waiting for police...”
  19. Yes, overstayers, and people who entered illegally are known to hang out at these clubs...
  20. Probably safer to holiday some place else, just to avoid being, possibly, hassled every other week.
  21. And same as last time found nothing! Not even enough for finger-pointing or showing off a colourful vinyl-board...
  22. Still I don't understand why someone like the OP would want to live in the sticks, surrounded by farmland, doing what all day...
  23. True. But I'm an active and inquisitive person, and I could think of thousands of other places where I would rather live than in Isan's countryside. (Just my opinion. Others may enjoy it there for whatever reason...)
