  1. 13th of April, and it is surprisingly quiet here in the middle of Pattaya. No water fights, some shops closed, a few tourists walking around...
  2. Still disturbing. Imagine you need money right now, but your account has been locked thanks to scammers trying to access it. And then you have to wait hours or days till it is unlocked again by your bank...
  3. Will probably work as well as 'no alcohol from 2 to 5 p.m.' - big stores will abide, but small ones not so much...
  4. Haven’t been out today either, but noticed some big puddles in front of some bars, so I guess they started last night, perhaps, with some more throwing going on tonight...
  5. Let me guess. So it, definitely, won't be used to splash onto passersby?
  6. Yes, but the point is that they now also cost much more than six months ago...
  7. Imports from the UK, where it says "98p" on the can, cost 128 to 140 baht here!
  8. Not my experience. The prices of groceries I buy have risen by a third to a half over the past 6 months (either directly in price, via reduced item size, or both).
  9. Pigs and swine in Pattaya... And the news is?
  10. But the BOT seems to have other opinions. Which one is too optimistic/pessimistic?
  11. Not to mention, less pilots available, and those who are have way less aeronautical experience...
  12. What others say: “OECD predicts SE Asian growth to decline Weaker global demand the culprit” (Source: A newspaper, bearing the name of Thailand’s capital, 10th Apr. 2023)
  13. Scary stuff: "Dr Karan Raj said: 'If there is any erratic thrusting or if the movements of the two parties are not in sync it could lead to the [p****] slipping out and being crushed by the female p**** bone.' The doctor continued: 'Despite being boneless, the p**** can break...over enthusiastic s** could leave your p**** looking like an Aubergine."
  14. Too many Chinese at 8 p.m. Better wait till 9 p.m. when they're all at their hotel.
  15. Don't know about transit, but AirAsia does check the Australian visa when flying there. So, either staff is incompetent (possible in the case of AirAsia), or it is because it's not a connecting flight, so that passing through Immigration is necessary.
  16. What I think or don’t think, is none of your business anyway.
  17. Sure. If you do it, let us know. Maybe it's safer than it looks like.
  18. I was referring to thugs like the ones in the article, not Thai people in general.
  19. Well, so you got help from Thais there. Good for you. But the Swede wasn't so lucky. I agree that having Thai 'bystanders' intervene can deescalate such a situation.
  20. Yes, but it is no secret that men in this part of the world, esp. in Thailand, are cowards, and, in such a situation, will brutally attack you immediately and as a pack, so unless you're with friends or a master of martial arts, it will end badly for you...
  21. They can always claim "Thai people don't do that", as the perpetrators were Tai Yai = Shan = originally 'from Myanmar'...
