  1. Anyone knows whether the Covid jabs currently offered are free for Non 'O' visa holders, or whether they get charged the announced fees of 800-1,000 + 380 baht?
  2. Do they also do 90-day reports? If so, how much for one or the whole year?
  3. "Thai army chief says “coup” should be removed from media’s vocabulary" I'm sure they can get some good advice for censorship from their friends at the CCP.
  4. TAT calculators again... 1 million × 12 = 5.3 million ????
  5. Since when is Thailand interested in travellers staying for an 'extended time'? Oh yes, since all the coveted Asian visitors have lowered the average tourist's stay to a week or so...
  6. Not sure whether they have Thai nationality or not, but many on Walking Street, promoting the Russian a-go-gos, working in malls (e.g. Mike's), or (shhh...) secretly selling leather belts in alleys near Tip Plaza...
  7. Fits with Thailand's policy of favouring Russia...
  8. Thailand truly likes to party like it's 2020... ????
  9. Conservatives and liberals? Odd descriptions for parties in Thailand, unless with 'conservatives' is meant the parties that want to protect the status quo of the role and far-reaching powers of the monarchy.
  10. Then again, it makes sense. While in other places the flu season has to do with the colder weather, in Thailand often people get sick travelling around or working in the rain...
  11. Oops, sorry for that, I had the aircon on all day...
  12. Shows also what a rip-off this will be... If unpaid hospital bills on Phuket were 10 million baht (or about 300,000 US$), and the number of foreign Phuket tourists was, say, 10 million in 2019, then this was, on average 1 (one) baht per tourist. So, why do they want to charge each tourist a tourist tax of 300 baht on arrival? - Who, or which institution will enrich themselves with the remaining 299 baht?
  13. When I was younger, and older folks wished each other 'good health above all', I thought WTF, but now that I'm getting older too, I understand it...
  14. And Asia... One prime example is Sri Lanka. Corrupted and bankrupted by China-financed mega-projects, leading to political chaos and economic ruin.
  15. Whatever that is... Some kind of refugee visa?
  16. Mussolini was never a big fan of Hitler.
  17. Airport taxes, yes. But this was supposed to be an extra tax by the Revenue Department to fill the government's coffers (perhaps used to buy more submarines, or whatever), as opposed to the AOT's imposed tax to pay for the upkeep of airports.
  18. Next they will make polls not on decrees from 1983, but 1883 or 1783... Amazing (laughing stock) Thailand!
  19. It's a braindead idea. Will it stop expats travelling abroad; no. Will it stop some Thais travelling overseas; maybe. Will those travellers spend less money at their destination; unlikely. Will the Thais and expats spend those 1,000 baht less after returning to Thailand; possibly. Is Thai bureaucracy shooting itself into the (economic) foot again? Well...
  20. Don't know about Big Tu, but, yes, I expect turmoil somewhere down the road too...
  21. At the source a link to the poll/website was displayed, but I couldn't find it. Hope, the people taking part have so much brains to vote against it. Doesn't mean that a future government could not like the idea and push through with it nonetheless.
  22. And it's an 'airport tax' to pay for the upkeep of Thailand's airports (similar to airport taxes in other countries), unlike the Revenue Department's proposed exit fee of 1,000 baht, officially to be introduced (maybe) to 'curb excessive spending of Thai residents: citizens and expats', but IMHO just a money-grab to fleece travellers.
