Spot on. While in neighbouring Malaysia (and other countries) you're just asked to scan index fingers, in Thailand it's also thumbs, and four fingers... Not to mention, the long time the IO needs staring at the screen for each visitor. Do they play online chess, watching their favourite soap in the corner of the screen, or why do they need much longer than other countries' IOs to look at the screen before stamping passports?

In Pattaya now I see mostly older white guys, a good number of Russians, some Chinese, and lots of Indians...

As for me, the transaction happened when I was overseas, so I didn't get messages from DTAC, obviously.

The only way I can think of, is entering overland, bypassing the Immigration building. But for a Dutch (not Burmese, or Cambodian) citizen, that would be very stupid.

Sounds strange. Did she arrive by yacht, just hopping onto the beach, or did she walk across the Mekong river bed? I mean, she's not Burmese, but Dutch...

Thank you. Anyhow, learnt a lesson on how to book accommodation. Won't use 'give card details, but pay later' option anymore.

Having a printout of my K-Bank debit card transactions overseas, I noticed that a hotel abroad charged me twice for staying there in February (cash, then one day later debiting the card for the same amount). What is the procedure (at a bank branch) to have such a debit cancelled? (I was just told over the phone by K-Bank customer service to 'contact the firm that debited the amount', but I haven't received an answer from them yet.)
