The airlines at the point of departure are the ones that check this, if you don't have the return ticket when one is required, you wont be allowed to board.

errr I got on 3 planes to get here ???? there's a guy from the States above been doing the same thing for donkies years.....

maybe you should stop believing everything the 'control freaks' tell you? ????

Age is not the issue, type of visa and/or re-entry permit is. If you don't have a long stay visa and a re-entry permit, a return ticket is required.

i flew in end of last month from Germany, nobody gives a carp about anything anymore, including that convid jab, thank the lord

    Saudis weren't bothered either

Thai immigration asked me why I didn't have a visa, I said I read I could get a stamp on arrival so he stamped my passport

I am not a lover of systemwide VPN, and secondly, I do not like to use proprietary software provided by a VPN provider.

aye agree........to be fair, we should all get out more and stop watching the BS on the teLIEvision.......in addition the OP is Francais and those channels are the biggest load of toss I've ever come across.......there's a reason les riche own all the channels ????

if I wanna watch a movie tpb is still your best bet, just bung it on a memory stick, stick it in your TV and watch it that way......

It's a mistake to believe everything "folks" keep telling you.

Opening a bank account in Thailand is not difficult.

sure I agree with the first sentence, that's why I'm a skinny bloke, on a bike, doing keto ????

2nd bit I haven't succeeded at yet so I'll have to see......do I need a TM30? the agoda place I'm staying in at the moment didn't even want to see my passport ????

Last month’s bill was over 22,000. Hopefully they will come up with some help soon like they have in other countries. If anyone knows of a decent priced place in Pattaya I’d still consider looking into it again.

holy doodoos that is a helluva lot for leccy!! how many aircon uniits?? I'm not an electrician but I understand technology and I do know this stuff isn't expensive now......ie 335watt panels are 3800baht a piece and you can buy cheap inverters......search suoer we've been talking about it on another thread....

if i was me I'd just buy the stuff and rig it up myself with the help of some 'cheap labour' to 'have a go' lol

ie try say 6 panels to begin with, that'll give you 2kW of panels for not a lot of cash and that's a fair amount of electricity imo

    panels here https://globalhouse.co.th/product/detail/072203095763

And once your settled out here, it's no problem to open a Thai bank account and get a card

bit of a catch 22 that cos to settle in the first place you need a bank account ie to get a non-O retirement visa.......and folks keep telling me I can't easily open one anymore as a 'dodgy foreigner' ????

I did CALB s/h batteries which were a mistake. If I could choose again I'd get nmc 280x14 for around 50kbht.

i think batteries are a bit of a 'mine field' in more ways than one......a guy I know in frogland nearly burnt his house down charging his remote control plane and helicopter batteries in the living room.....

i love technology but not sure I'd have a leccy car just yet, leccy bike bring it on ????

    Working without batteries?

yes, that GTI aka grid tie inverter we are on about just plugs into your electrical socket, I posted a pic in another thread.....'cheap solar'

if you want to go 'off-grid' Suoer also do an inverter for 4,500baht that'll charge some batteries for you....I'd be interested in seeing that work with some cheapish 'deep cycle' batteries

if you stay below 50 units usage for 3 months your subsequent bills would be 0 THB (if you stay under that)

as in use less than 50kWh/month? that would take some doing.......but maybe possible with a couple of panels to 'spread the load' lol

i had a 6kVA system, probably could have gone down to 3kVA.......the EU are normally a PITA but stuff like having hoovers that don't use too much leccy is one of their 'better ideas' methinks......shame about the noise pollution with those horrendous leaf blowers though....

On a good day I am getting about 2-2.5 back spinning kW ????  from that, it helps but is no comparison to a real inverter.

real inverter? in France I was only using about 3kW/day.......even in 30+ degree summer no aircon needed in an old stone house, gas for cooking, logs for heating.....

bike for shopping.......the battery on one car went dead ????

No idea, I think @Crossy better answer that but I have connected 3 x 330W panels to a 1000VA one

superb, even with those panels at what 3800baht now, and the 1000VA at 3650......that's what 15k baht plus a few brackets and switches etc

that's less than £400 in uk money for a 1kw of power!!! I remember a mate of mine years ago paying like 14 grand for a 4kw system ????

You cannot apply for a Revolut card if you are in Thailand.

Unless you want to faff around with a VPN.

sure...'banks' are interesting nowadays, I try not to use a 'physical card', I use 'virtual cards' online nowadays and cash when I'm out.....mind you 'out' is mainly on a push bike so I don't have to run a lardy vehicle ie less plastic needed ????
