nobodysfriend replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
At least he traveled first class around the world , stayed in the best hotels , had great food , met world's leaders ... and all at the expense of the thai taxpayer . Now he can retire from his job , but will have good memories to share with his family . Good job . The new one will want to do the same ...? bye bye ... -

Tesla Reconsiders Thailand Plant Amidst Global Strategy Shift

Ev's are good for the city only . Lithium batteries create problems as well by the way they are manufactured and the way they can be re-used or disposed of . Not very sustainable ... try to drive an EV in a cold country with aircon on ... the batteries will become exhausted soon ... The only way to go is hydrogen that can be refilled at Petrol stations . -
On one side , we have an old man who dreams of becoming a dictator just like Putin or Kim , who is telling lies whenever he opens his mouth , who chose a VP who is not trustworthy and has reversed his political stance once already . Trump wants MAGA , but most of the americans would be happy being financially well of , having a secured income and less laws they need to obey to ... they do not need to be great again ... Living under Trump in the US may easily become a nightmare for many . On the other side , we have Harris and Walz , who offer more realistic perspectives for a sustainable economy and the ability to prepare for a future that depends much on the actions taken now .

PM Faces Uncertainty as Constitutional Court Decision Looms
nobodysfriend replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Typical . Thais , in general , are not good in anticipating things that will happen as consequences of their actions ... " Let it happen first " ... is the most stupid approach . An exception seems to be the new PP ( peoples party ) , they learned to anticipate , because they know the system . And they know that they are not wanted by the elite . Considering these facts , they can preview ( anticipate ) the actions taken against them , which puts them in a favorable position . The average thai ( politician ) is not able to do that . -

Thailand Has Global Ambition to Become Tech Talent Hub by 2030
nobodysfriend replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
They do want to become this ... and this ... some crazy guy in the administration has the job to invent new " hubs " that Thailand will want to become , every day . Pity that Thailand , most of the time , does not fulfill the basic requirements to make their dreams come true ... -
Thailand Advances with Casino Legalisation Plan
nobodysfriend replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Good move . Casinos will bring in a lot of foreign gamblers who will lose a lot of money ... but it is not only the casinos , it is a whole entertainment industry that will be created ... That will attract a lot of people . Thailand still can be the " family friendly holiday resort " for middle and upper class people that it wants to be so desperately . These people do not feel so attracted by the red light quarters anyway , they spend their money near the beach . But others , mainly asians want and will gamble , that is what they like . Thais should not be allowed to gamble in Casinos , they will probably lose all they got . May be change the family friendly resort of Pattaya to a thai Vegas .... controlled by RTP ...? RTP will like it . -

People’s Party Surge: 84% Would Vote Today, Poll Reveals
nobodysfriend replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes . But it is not about Thailand's economy this time . It is about how the ruling elite secures it's place . They are all rich enough already , they do not need income from tourism any more ... It is the old : me first , me me me ... the rest of thailands population can go to hell , as long as they can stay in power ... not a socialist country here ... -

The thai military did stop people's movements before already . They will get orders to kill demonstrators if there is no other way . The only other possibility is a revolt within the army itself to get rid of their corrupt commanders . I do not want Thailand to follow Burma's footsteps ... but eventually it will risk a civil war if the outcome of the next elections is so hypocritically suppressed as it was this time ... -

That is what you can call a " landslide " win . Another 3 years to wait for ... Som nam nah , the great manipulator turned into a disaster for his own party . He better should have stayed in Dubai . The CC consists of royalists who just execute orders . -
It is not difficult to make the thai electorate happy ... Just respect the basic democratic rules , like the outcome of elections , without dissolving the winning party because the present corrupt government hates reforms . Thai people I speak to , all do not like the government and the one who is above the laws . Radical change is desperately needed , but , if the ruling elite smells this coming , it will be met with desperate measures , like another coup . Not a free country , no free speech allowed , all designed by the few in power who try to keep their positions by all means , but civil discontent is growing steadily ... but resignation and fear are still holding Thailand back from radical change . I wish all the best to the new people's party , they will win the 2027 elections ... but a coup will certainly follow ... Thai leaders have a lot of experience doing that . Change is needed , but it will not happen ... peacefully . In Thailand , just like in a south american banana republic , or Burma , the one who controls the army , has the ultimate say ... If PP ( Peoples Party ) wins , they need to do all what is possible to get control over the army . Without announcing it first ...
