  1. Understand. I have been very lucky and had never needed a stay in a hospital in Thailand or AU. Not so long ago I had a hip replacement at private hospital in Bangkok. Was like a 5 star hotel. Hip replacement + all the add ons came to 20k aud. Currently in Oz. Have had all bloods etc ultra sound x rays you name it. Cost Zero
  2. The benefit is with a reentry permit you can exit and reenter Thailand as often as you like. Be aware that an extension from non O provides a temporary permission of stay. Exactly the same as stamp from tourist visa. Living in Thailand ongoing on tourist visas is not an option
  3. 100% agree. Most likely flights cheaper a bonus.
  4. Good advice and I agree should have zero issues. Clear itinerary always is a good idea and onward flight almost essential for Airline. OP, you will be fine given your history in Thailand.
  5. First up you ain't stupid. These accidents occur all the time. I recently obtained new Au pp. Realize you are UK. The process was 20 day from apply Bangkok to received new pp via post. Back to your question...when you have your new pp attend immigration with both pp. Your stamp records will be on file and not be an issue. My office (CW) Also wanted my bankbook photocopies to verify Financials.
  6. Believe @Pattaya57 recently obtained non O evisa Sydney. He will advise you re the process
  7. Thought it was obvious. If married you can just show 400k for two months in bank then it can be used. 400k might cover 3-4 months. Run it down to zero then wash repeat for next extension. Many use income method as it's only 40k per month. Again can be used the minute it lands in Thai bank account. Very sweet deal compared to retirement
  8. No it's not a "tier" system. You can use public hospitals for fraction of price of private. As to your thread ....any form of tourist visas would not be good option for "I plan to live here permanently " You should obtain a non O based on retirement and subsequent 12 month extensions on going. That has financial requirements. If that is not possible some folk use an agent.
  9. OP, obtain replacement passport.
  10. OP, your question is far to open. It's all about how long you wish to stay in Thailand and is it ongoing. For example many posts along the lines... "I want to spend 6 months in Thailand each year" You need to elaborate.
  11. So you did not open a bank account on a tourist visa as per the thread topic
  12. Thanks for asking same questions I would have. These threads asking for advice on opening bank account on visa exempt or tourist visa is about the NOW not what occurred years back. Also places such as Siam Legal are now longer offering this service. Previously they did. Also anyone in Bangkok the bank will require a certificate of residence and CW will only issue a COR if you have made a TM47. Something impossible on a tourist visa.
  13. To be clear. You had agent obtain a bank account along with a non O retirement and 12 month extension
  14. Yeah...I used FD for several years (CW) Each extension I deposited 1000b and 100b for bank letter. Recently closed that account. The bank clerk had to close the original deposit and subsequent 9 other 1000 deposits separately. Felt bit embarrassed the work I caused.
  15. Make mental note to add Surat Thani to list of rogue immigration offices
  16. Surprised it was accepted. Funds need to be in Thai bank account
  17. Please post fact. First hand experience of going upstairs well dressed to open a bank account account with a tourist visa and nothing else. Within last year.
  18. Do not follow. It is possible to make a deposit on day of application. Most FD accounts requure minimum deposit of 1000b. Not an issue.
  19. FD account is fine. Be aware that for extension based on marriage you only require 400k in account for 2 months prior to application for extension and also under consideration period. After that the funds can be use. imo better option.
  20. How does that relate to OP situation. Answer not at all.
  21. Well known Rogue office. Other examples of that office playing their own game.
  22. That is because that is the law. Most immigration offices are abiding by that and a TM30 is not required for OP situation
  23. To certain extent that is true. The vast majority of immigration offices have followed the change to tm30 rules in June 2020. A couple one being CM are rogue regarding this. I asked OP which immigration office. Has not updated.
  24. Assume that you have annual extension and obtained a reentry permit to enable your recent return to Thailand. You do not need to file a TM30. Which immigration office
  25. You have done your research. Thinking this is your best option rather than PE visa. The details outlined in post by @Lite Beer
