  1. He can not obtain certificate of residence in Bangkok without having done a TM47 at that office. Nakhon Ratchasima is an option.
  2. You could try a change of address to where you live. That would require a TM30. As for your extension next year you will need to use as agent as the financials are check retrospectively over previous 12 months. As for exiting the country you need to obtain a reentry permit. In your case best done at departure. 1000b single reentry and 3800b multiple. If your embassy provides confirmation of address that can be used for TDL. What do you need certificate of residence for..
  3. There are ~ 75 immigration offices. Can you rattle off a few offices imposing same rubbish as Jomtien.
  4. Just a heads up. Every one of your posts in this thread has been incorrect information. Tourist Visas cannot be obtained in Thailand. The "conversion" from visa exempt entry or tourist visa entry to a non O marriage or retirement use forms TM87 and TM86 respectfully. That provides a 90 day stamp. The subsequent 12 month extension has different requirements for marriage and retirement. That's not what the thread is about. It's about Jomtien immigration imposing incorrect rule for funds in account on day of application for non O.
  5. Folk with tourist visa sometimes need/want to exit for few days and return. You can buy a reentry permit to keep your permission of stay valid. Obtain at airport on departure or immigration office anytime.
  6. And I answered ....YES. SETV = Single entry tourist visa.
  7. What are you typing about. Jomtien are requiring two months seasoning of funds for non O. That makes process from visa exempt to non O impossible. The other 70+ offices only require the funds in bank on day of application for non O. I would be mad as hell dealing with that crackpot immigration office.
  8. It is not possible to obtain a tourist visa inside of Thailand. The only thing remotely related to 60 days is "60 day extension to visit Thai wife"
  9. I always attend the sit down desk for the bank letter. Side over bankbook and 200baht. Ask clerk to make 100deposit and the other 100b for bank letter. Ask her to kindly photocopy this updated bb page. Of course don't really need to say anything they know exactly what you need. OP can you list the documents that you provided? Was TM30 required? Did you provide bank statements or was photocopies of bank book pages sufficient?
  10. Received means little. You need to check status. Needs to change from "pending to approved" My current online report has been pending for a week (CW) .As a result I'm going Thursday to do one in person as now already 2 days past due date. Check with this link https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login
  11. That all well and good. Immigration offices vary and that would not work in Bangkok. CW requires a TM47 report to obtain a certificate of residence and hence for anyone on visa exempt entry or tourist visa they cannot open a bank account unless their embassy provides service to endorse address. That is when discussion of agents enters the game.
  12. Depends if it's an eVisa application or setv at a consulate. In both cases it's an easy work around. Basically can be side stepped. Do some research
  13. Apart from the fact that it's incorrect. While a reentry permit will indeed not require an onward flight so also would any visa Example SETV. That is not a "long term visa"
  14. He explained that in another thread. The reason being that AseanNow is full of negative folk just posting to pick holes. @Red Phoenix thanks for your excellent contributions.
  15. Only posting this for others. Apart from flying into Thailand and asked for onward flight by airline. When flying out of Thailand visa exempt for Thai citizens to places such as Japan (where Thai have 15 day visa exempt entry) The airline requires flight out at boarding pass and again airside at gate.
  16. You can obtain a work permit while on extension from non O based upon marriage.
  17. First up good post. Regarding this part I quoted. Yes indeed exit Thailand on USA pp since she entered Thailand on that visa. However next step is to straight away enter Laos. She would need to do that with Thai pp to reenter Thailand with her Thai pp. Perhaps that's possible. Might be problematic at land border. I posted earlier suggestion of flight out to Saigon and back after short stay. More bullet proof imo.
  18. Of course nothing to do with METV. Everyone knows that gem can provide up to almost 9 months. That does not preclude additional options for longer stay.
  19. The "even longer" is referring to other side salads such as visa exempt entries via land borders along with 30 day extensions.
  20. Think you posted that you will be returning to UK. The METV is applied for in country of nationality or where you have permanent residence status. Since eVisa in UK there are threads discussing ways to sidestep that requirement. Suggest ignore that and obtain your METV while in UK
  21. That's a valid point. Has happened to me one time in Thailand. Clearly the owner (in my case) was just testing the market. Happens. Unrelated but when I realized that I was going to live in Thailand and transporting a Harley was just impossible....I advertised it for sale for a great price (for buyer) Point is I very clearly stated Price was zero negotiable. My guess is in your deal owner has no desire to sell
  22. I'm not. He owns the land and set a price. Yes normally price would be slightly inflated to allow for some haggle but that's not always the case.
  23. For a long stay you could consider a METV. That visa would enable you to stay in Thailand for 9 months and even longer
  24. Thanks. Thought as much. Hope they don't give me ticket for "L desks"
