  1. OP, you of course realize that agents can assist with obtaining non O and subsequent extensions in two ways. Firstly by side stepping financial requirements etc and the other is simply hand holding exercise. One option is at some point exit Thailand and reenter visa exempt. With that 30 day stamp you have time to obtain non O (marriage) at your immigration office with or without agent. You require 400k in Thai bank in your name only. Funds in the bank on the day you apply. That provides 90 day permit. When funds have been in bank minimum 2 months obtain 12 month extension. It's not difficult. Not wanting to deal with immigration is childish excuse. Process fully explained in attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/
  2. Thinking your thread is a cover for a rant about tax issues. In one post you refer to obtaining non immigrant visa "here in Canada"..... So are you even in Thailand. Ways to stay in Thailand for 6 months has been covered often.. https://aseannow.com/topic/1325688-come-to-thailand-one-time-a-year-and-stay-for-6-months/
  3. OP issue resolved. Thread closed
  4. As mentioned above not a non O-A. Extensions from a non O-A would require medical insurance if based on retirement. If your extensions are based on marriage then insurance not required. So to be clear...what visa did you originally have? A non O-A or non O and what are extensions based on marriage or retirement
  5. Bumping your thread as no reply. Immigration pretty much just want to see a TM30 when he applies for extension. You mention friend has been in Thailand "for few months" Which immigration office will he use and what is his current stamp based on...tourist visa?
  6. Just one persons opinion.... Foolish idea. This is a job that can be done by Thai nationals that have excellent English skill set. This is different to just working online under the radar in services that do not receive income from being "private English tutor"
  7. You referred to 800k in OP. Most simple option is to remain on annual extensions (retirement) using money in bank method. Obtain a reentry permit and limit your time spent in Thailand to whatever you want under 180days total. imo crazy plan as you mention wife, friends etc.. Options visa wise....one would be METV. Take a chill pill imo.
  8. OP, age? Assume over 50 as you referred to 800k. You are jumping the gun imo. Perhaps wait till any tax come into place
  9. You are referring to 90 day reporting. 14 days prior for online and via mail. 14 days prior and up to 6 days after due date for in person TM47. Not related to extensions
  10. Did you ask about a 12 month extension or to actually obtain a non O visa from visa exempt or tourist visa entry.
  11. The guy you quoted was confused. Also seems he was obtaining a non O visa and not a 12 month extension. At CM it's up to 45 days early for annual extension
  12. At large immigration offices such as CW, CM etc you can apply up to 45 days prior to expiry. At majority of offices it's up to 30 days prior
  13. You could inquire with one of the Bangkok agents such as ThaiVisaCentre. I doubt if an agent will obtain a COR at CW. Keep in mind that you must have your most recent TM47 receipt.
  14. https://aseannow.com/topic/1328126-residence-certificate-requirements/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1286381-certificate-of-residence-at-cw/ In this last thread ubonjoe posts a link to form that CW uses. https://aseannow.com/topic/1268314-can-i-get-a-certificate-of-residency-at-cw/ Note: appointments for COR not available at CW. However if your TM47 report window is open you can book appointment for that and the same desk will process your COR application. 200b. The io will even photocopy the TM47 receipt.
  15. Never was a requirement for extensions. Unrelated to extensions there were few reports re visa exempt entry at a land border asking about onward travel..
  16. Have a good flight.
  17. Reply from ubonjoe and others here. https://aseannow.com/topic/1169847-change-non-ed-to-non-b-work-permit/
  18. OP, here is a random thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1319982-retirement-extension-jomtien-trip-report/ Don't bother with it apart from OP report. Here is a snip from it. "Then I will also see if I get the form to return in three months to show the 800K still in the bank. For me it varies; Some years I do get it and some years I don't. I never bother to go back anyway, I think it is meant more as a reminder to us than to them" Have read MANY reports of folk ignoring the "return with bank book" in 3 months. I have NEVER read a report where failure to do so resulted in issue with next extension.
  19. The type of visa eg non O vs non O-A sets the requirements for extension of your permission of stay. As you pointed out requirement of insurance. The post you quoted is fully correct. When he exits Thailand on his stated dates the non O is history.
  20. The topic has come up many times and many first hand reports of no record being made or no slip handed out to report back etc.. and no issues of not returning. Just Jomitien rubbish.
  21. The OP has a tourist visa. He will apply for extension at CW. If he had a visa exempt entry he would apply at LakSi The two forms you listed have been around for quite some time. Required for all extensions. Terms and conditions+ acknowledgement of overstay penalties
