Rejected at PoiPet border
DrJack54 replied to Kardashev's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You most likely would not had an issue at for eg Nong Khai friendship bridge. Think you are currently in PP? If planning to fly into Thailand make sure that you have 20k baht or equivalent currency. The airline will require you to provide proof of onward flight. Have a clear prepared "story" of your plans in Thailand and print out of onward flight. -

DrJack54 replied to AAArdvark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Read ubonjoe post. You stated...... "....... from the day the one year O is given." No such animal. There is a non 0 that gives a 90 day stamp. Subsequently you can apply for a 12 month extension. The day you obtain the extension starts 90 day clock. -

Tourist visa form questions
DrJack54 replied to Hal65's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Single entry. Skip the guarantor. Address...just write some random hotel. Period of stay 60 days. Apply for extension later. If you are entering prior to march 31 why bother with tourist visa. Just enter visa exempt. -

Planning to Retire in Thailand

Ridiculous thread. Travel log. Nothing to do with this forum. Just chit chat about one Thai location vs other options. General discussion forum at best. -
Visa Extension - Renewal Problem

What is stopping you from opening a separate bank account. They are basically free. Maintain a dedicated bank account for your pension transfers and another account for your daily banking needs. -

Visa Extension - Renewal Problem

You stated the following... "That requirement is in respect of extensions, rather than visas" Referring to funds need to come from abroad. That's incorrect. Simple. -
Visa Extension - Renewal Problem
DrJack54 replied to allane's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
9 months would be plenty to not need to show funds came from abroad. Many folk have killed off non O-A and used existing funds to obtain non O retirement in Thailand. -
Visa Extension - Renewal Problem

No proof of origin of funds required for extensions . Obtaining a non O retirement inside Thailand requires proof funds came from abroad -
Visa Extension - Renewal Problem
DrJack54 replied to allane's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Nonsense. Some folk need to show bank statements at CW if they use a day to day bank account and as a result can have consolidated transactions. There are many folk that use a dedicated bank account to park the funds in. Also there are many folks that use an FD account. I have never provided bank statements at CW. Last November for current extension the immigration officer pointed out that she wanted to see an entry every month. That was a surprise however easily done. -

Visa Extension - Renewal Problem
DrJack54 replied to allane's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
My post was in reply to someone stating that bank statements are required and I was pointing out that I have obtained all my extensions without bank statements. Of course all the other requirements need to met and provided such as TM7 etc. Your point? -

TM30 submission in person process
DrJack54 replied to Millian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sez who? Not all folk applying for an extension are doing annual extensions and also have a Thai wife living in her home. For the majority married or not they are renting. Some even own their own condo etc. The person applying for extension may be required to show proof of a TM30. That my be as simple as obtaining a screenshot from hotel where you are staying. It may be doing the TM30 as possessor etc. Bottom line is it's the applicants responsibly to provide docs for immigration. Your advice is poor and shows little knowledge. In the main based on your experience of wife being fined some years ago. -
