800K topped up late ( options please )
DrJack54 replied to blue angel's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That is correct. The OP, also corrected his error several posts back stating ....... "After looking at my book again the money was withdrawn 97 days after my last extension" Was not an issue after all. Topic closed. -
safest bet for border crossing ??
DrJack54 replied to popel's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Well the entry via air at CNX is by FAR the easiest. 3200b direct flight from Da Nang. However not bullet proof. Entries via land border bit safer however horrible from Da Nang to Thailand options Bit of a worry that you had issue being accepted back to Vietnam. -
Re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi

I don't regard this as good advice. Indeed folk with fast tract can go through passport control and walk back to Zone 2. -

DrJack54 replied to Barry864's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have attached thread re visa exempt entry to non O retirement to 12 month extension. The obtaining non O does not apply to your friend as he already has done that. Maybe of use to you. Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only. As for you worrying about reentry permit. Don't. Bullet proof. Dont go through passport control. The reentry is Zone 2 left hand side of passport que. Folk using fast track do go through passport control as the fast track is in another zone. Then walk all way to zone 2 (airside) https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/ -
Re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi
DrJack54 replied to Barry864's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If he is on 90 day permission of stay from a non O visa then the first 12 month extension he can apply for prior to expiry of his current stamp.. -

1&2. Zone 2 after security and prior to passport control 3. Not long perhaps 20mins 4. Yes it will be open. Note: Optional 200b service fee to fill in TM8 do photo etc Edit: Does he have an extension You state "He has a 3 month non-O visa as he told me." -

Oh please. Have a dedicated back account for immigration purposes. Can be FD or Savings a/c . Don't touch it. Maintain 800k all year round. Beatles song "I wanna hold your hand" springs to mind. -

It's not Math issue. The financials are checked retrospectively. In other words they check back to last extension date. In your case you did not maintain the 800k for 3 months after current extension was granted You need to start over. Immigration very strict on this requirement. -

Apparently the OP did not maintain 800k+ in a Thai bank account for 3 months after issue of extension. You maintain the 800k all year round. Many folk do that. Indeed I also do that. Great. The FD account is irrelevant. A separate account for immigration purposes is a good idea and for daily banking another account. -

DrJack54 replied to blue angel's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The rule is very clear. 800k for 60 days prior to application. Maintain 800k after extension. Can be as low as 400k at other months. The withdrawal of 300k "about 60 days after my last extension" means you have not met the financial requirements. You will need to exit Thailand return visa exempt and apply for new non O retirement using TM87. You have Thai bank account in place and funds so this is inconvenient but has a solution -

ED visa does not have age restriction. However if over 50yr non O based on retirement would be better option. -

That requirement was removed. Thinking August last year. In any event the OP is currently in Da Nang with new 45 day stamp. -

You are unfamiliar with refused entry visa exempt via air. You need to fly with airline that you flew to Thailand with. Also generally you are flown back to where you departed. If flying back to pp country that would be paid for on the spot and very expensive (to Europe) Having stated the above, thinking you would have a reasonable chance at CNX -

Yes. Obtain a non O next visit. -
Not saying it's correct attitude from the immigration officer however think your issue is that you have a good option since you are 60+ Have you ever had a non O? Everyone refers to "retirement visa" In actual fact is a non O with annual extensions and the requirement is age 50+. Retirement is not required. Work in Thailand prohibited.

"chiang mai per air" I hope you pick the first option on the poll. I have never read a thread where someone was refused entry at Thai airport and immediately tried another airport. Go for it. Two hour direct flight 3400b -

You mention starting a poll. Also that you really need to collect stuff from Pattaya. Also best entry to Thailand . From Da Nang. You have painted yourself in very poor spot. You could have done a simple land border bounce from Pattaya to Cambodia About 3.5k minivan. If you really must get your stuff from Pattaya then fly your gf to Da Nang. Still better meet her in Saigon. After that fly home to Europe Being over 50 you have far better options for future visits to Thailand -
Several reports of Jomitien requiring a TM30 for all extensions. For 30 day extension along with 12 month extension. Also your few threads from you regarding 30 day extension only available on one day prior to expiry does not backed up with other reports. Where 30 day extension has been obtained earlier that that. Go and try extension week or 2 early and report back outcome.
