  1. Very strange thread. The OP was just asking about the fact the application for non O retirement from Oz required insurance. Answer Yes. Alternative is to skip the non O and enter Thailand visa exempt or tourist visa. Morph into debate about insurance. That's an individual choice. End of.
  2. I could pick every one segmented parts of you post. ...all incorrect. Let's stick with this one. The reason Kasikorn opened a bank account is that you perhaps had ongoing annual extensions from perhaps a non O. I have done exactly the same with same bank. You state 5 years ago with Bangkok bank. Yellow book would not cut it today. All your posts above are rubbish. When you renew you TDL in Bangkok your pink card won't cut it. Previously it did. You will need a certificate of residence. I could go on but it's boring
  3. Dream on. Obviously haven't researched your options to live in Thailand. More options when you are 50. Guessing you are long way from that
  4. That was me. Yes it's possible. Every entry from METV while it's still valid provides a 60 day stamp. That stamp can be extended by 30 days. 6+3= approx 9 months The rest of your post is correct
  5. I don't see it that way. Debate over what. If someone wants a pink ID card then obtain one. It's not an exclusive group. If someone does not see any significant advantage is having a pink ID then fine. Topic DONE. To each their own. Just a puffing chest thread. So to be fair tell me how the card would help me living here for 10+ years Many that have been posted are rubbish. Please don't tell me ...renew TDL (dose not work) previously did. Deal with bank, domestic airline travel, etc etc My pp does the trick. I have purchased few properties...I used my pp. Open bank account ...won't even justify that nonsense with reply. Pink card of no use. Now requires COR So give me one example of when I need it.
  6. A 14 page thread about nothing really. Stoked by bickering and chit chat.
  7. You could consider a METV. Depends how long you wish to stay in Thailand.
  8. For what the OP described he would not need a work permit.
  9. Until immigration refuses entry. In thread heading you state "as long as possible" If in home country you you could apply a METV. That would provide a stay of almost 9 months but does require to exit Thailand every 60 days. Can reenter via land or air straight away. You can also use SETV couple of times + couple of land border visa exempt entries. Allowed 2 per calendar year. Note: all these visa exempt and tourist visas can be extended by 30 days. You did flight to Vietnam for 30 day visa exempt entry. You could have gone to immigration office in Thailand for 30 day extension.
  10. Where are you flying to Thailand from? You could consider flight to Saigon to extend your time out of Thailand. Especially if you are visa exempt for Vietnam. Nice joint , then fly Saigon to CNX
  11. That's the problem. Nobody can be sure or state with any certainty that you will not have a problem . A visa helps but even that is no guarantee Also 2 overstays and yes have read the reasons in previous threads of yours. They are not a big concern. It's more collective time spent in Thailand along with time between visits. Don't recall a refused entry at CNX even with extensive history
  12. You often ask this question. With a SETV you should have a good chance. Without not good. Have a clear itinerary showing some initial accommodation bookings etc.
  13. Topic covered a zillion times. Reports almost every day of someone that states they were NOT asked for onward flight at departure by Airline..... Also reports of being asked for onward flight. Some routes (esp with low cost airlines) almost always required. So to your question answer "up to them"
  14. OP, one added note to above post. Be aware that while many immigration offices allow you to apply couple of weeks prior to expiry date of current permission of stay, some reports that Jomtien have asked some folk to wait till closer to expiry (few days)
  15. https://aseannow.com/topic/1310982-extension-online-faster-easier-no/
  16. Don't quite follow what you mean by "airline agents". In you example book flight directly with airline. Obtaining boarding pass at check in the airline should not ask for an onward flight if you have a Visa or reentry permit. In any event if there is any issue step away from check in and either book a rent a ticket with company such as "onward ticket.com" (15usd) Or buy a throw away ticket eg Bangkok to Saigon (2000b)
  17. Perfectly normal. Also TM30 has nothing to do with border bounce. Perfectly normal for immigration to require a TM30.. BTW you didn't have a VOA you have a 30 day visa exempt stamp. Some basic copies of your passport pages along with 1900b and TM30 often required for your 30 day extension
  18. My post was completely incorrect. Of course visa/extension status has nothing to do with bank. Somehow I read it that OP obtaining new pp. Even that would only require updating pp # on the account.
  19. Yes. BTW you do not have a 90 day extension. Thinking you have 90 day permission of stay from a non O.
  20. He edited his OP after my post ask about valid non O-A vs Extensions. Subsequently I did not revisit his OP. So OP, Your border bounce idea is good to go. Exit without reentry permit (which you do not have) and reenter visa exempt. As for your border bounce from Pattaya to Cambodia, this guy @Pattaya57 had recent positive experience with minivan company. Can advise. Don't overlook Jomtien specific rules for obtaining non O from visa exempt entry. This link outlines the process https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/
  21. So to be 100% clear. You are not on extensions from the non O-A you actually have a VALID non O-A. If you do you could consider a border run and reenter prior to non O-A expiry. You would be stamped in for 12 months. Yes would require one year insurance however worth a consideration especially given Jomitien are requiring 2 months 800k prior to application for non O
  22. The way that is written implies that you have a valid Non O-A. You need to clarify that. You need to exit and reenter AFTER it has expired. From visa exempt entry, yes you can obtain a non O retirement and subsequent extension. However Jomitien is a rogue office and currently requiring funds in bank for 2 months prior to application for the non O. In reality it's only required on day of application.
  23. Go to your immigration office and ask if they can do it early. You need some sort of reason. Example sick relative etc.
  24. Which immigration office? Few you can apply 45 days early, most are up to 30 days. You can approach immigration and plead case with flight ticket and a good story for urgent travel. You could chat with an agent to see how early they could arrange early extension. You could just exit Thailand and when return start over. This is not so bad. You could return visa exempt and obtain new non O at your immigration office
  25. You are confused. Read post above yours by @zzzzz You have nothing to transfer. Exit Thailand with both passports and reenter with visa exempt 30 day stamp.
