Retirement Visa Annual @Changwattana
DrJack54 replied to Finlaco's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I use money in bank method for extensions based on retirement CW. The issue for my application Oct 2022 was that there were few months with zero entries. I just have a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes. They can also request Bank Statement if they think there were consolidated entries. They were going to reject until I asked for senior io. This year (Oct 2023) I decided to provide bank statement. At Kasikorn they can provide 12 month bank statement on the spot for 200b. The next day I attended CW and obtained my bank letter (lower level) along with small deposit. I also went to print/photocopy stall (same level) and photocopies of all the required docs. Also some photos taken (4 pics 100b). The other NEW requirement was TM47 -

Non - O ME in HCMC and Hanoi: Denied!
DrJack54 replied to tomaway's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sadly you don't know what are talking about. Read up on visa options....one being multi entry non O available at some embassies/consulates, It's a visa option used by many. Many married guys prefer it over non O with extensions. Some gas/oil and roster workers find good option. -
Request advice on visa to stay in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to Cutty Shark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If your ongoing plan is to spend half a year in Thailand (snowbird) you could consider obtaining a Non O based on retirement and subsequent extensions. With a set period spent in Thailand each year you could be in Thailand to apply for ongoing extensions. You can obtain the initial non O in your own country or at immigration office in Thailand from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry. If your country provides a multi entry Non O retirement then that is also an option. -
Retirement Visa Annual @Changwattana
DrJack54 replied to Finlaco's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Normally CW require a transaction on day of application. Bank letter is accepted up to 7 days early. At CW most banks are located on lower level. Best to do letter and deposit on day of application. SBC does not have branch at CW. -

Help urgent Re eVisa Vietnam.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
I'm very confused and slightly upset. Prior to eVisa I used to arrive in Vietnam with an "approval letter" that enabled visa on arrival. A one page sticker was attached to pp. I always obtained Multi. They work differently than multi in Thailand. If you enter Vietnam just prior to visa expiry you only receive entry up to visa expiry date. I have already booked trips to Saigon x 2 and a trip to Hanoi Xmas/new year and one in Jan. That's 4 in 3 month period, as I did prior to covid. Very confused with new "rules" Why did my single entry in Feb seem to indicate 14 day stay. -
Help urgent Re eVisa Vietnam.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
Now I'm extremely confused. My last eVisa was single entry that provides a 30 day stay. Attached is copy of that visa and subsequent snap of my pp. Why was I only admitted for 14 days . The date in red circle looks to me ...17/02/2023. I entered 02/02/2023. FFS -
Help urgent Re eVisa Vietnam.
DrJack54 replied to DrJack54's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
The thing is multi entry visa for Vietnam allows entries for 90 days. I'm confused because prior to covid I previously obtained many. This is prior to eVisa. I have now checked my single entry eVisa I obtained Feb this year and it had the same 14 or 15 day "good for entry from (date) to until (date). Thinking that means you have 2 weeks to enter . I'm confused. Prior to eVisa ...I obtained 4 visits to Vietnam every month for many years. -
I just received my eVisa for Vietnam. I applied for 90 day multi entry. See attachment. Seems I have been given entry Oct 25 until Nov 11....?? What the

Request advice on visa to stay in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to Cutty Shark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Good points. The bonus on the exit reenter with a multi entry visa is that there is no questions upon reentry at airports. A nice weekend+ to Saigon would be my plan. Especially if based in Bangkok. -
Request advice on visa to stay in Thailand
DrJack54 replied to Cutty Shark's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Obtain a METV while in USA. The METV will provide 9 months. Followed by couple of border runs for visa exempt entries + 30 day extension for each. Total 13 months. Assume that you are under 50 -
visa on arrival question
DrJack54 replied to webber4's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can enter Thailand's visa exempt and be given 30 day stamp. Prior to expiry you can obtain a 30 day extension. 1900b That provides 60 day day. If 90+ is required you can do border bounce for another visa exempt entry that can also be extended if required. Note for visa exempt entry via air the airline at departure may require onward flight within 30 days. There are options to cover that. -
METV from UK
DrJack54 replied to it is what it is's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Many threads re this. Apparently now an easy process. https://aseannow.com/topic/1308022-metv-from-london/ -
That would be impossible as Thailand having 75 immigration offices where many play their own game. One example ...you posted non O at CW and received correct advice that minimum 15 days remaining on permission of stay. However it's 21 days at CM and 15 business days at Phuket. Currently Jomitien is rogue with requiring money in bank for non O for 2 months prior and actually it's only required on day of application for non O. Not even start me on rogue office CM regarding TM30 and not applying change in rules. Apply early at CW and if there is an issue you have time to obtain what they require.
