You won't need to. Stop worrying. Plenty of folk get eVisa everyday. In fact I'm going to Vietnam with one this week. Have screenshot of the evisa on your phone and email of confirmation if you have any concerns.

That is certainly the case for 30 day extension to visa exempt entry. Thinking that will also apply to 60 day extension to visit wife. Someone will correct if this is not the case You will need a TM30 to apply in Bangkok having previously been dealing with Jomtien.

OP title refers to extension based marriage. He can apply for extension up to 30/45 days prior to expiry of current permit.

Receipt of 90 day report not a requirement for reentry permit at airport or at immigration. Mind you immigration offices do what they want.

With rather limited trips to thailand and stays less than 90 days I feel his current option of ME Non O marriage valid for one year is excellent option and available eVisa. Would seem he needs zero interaction with immigration when in Thailand. Non O extensions would also involve under consideration period and possible home visit.

Probably a good option if you ever want to sell so not a big deal. With the advent of items such as airfryers etc oven seems less important. I had one year old kitchen destroyed by termites so you could consider a ongoing company to keep an eye on that. I had to replace it with concrete thai style. For others reading personally was surprised with reasonable cost of granite bench tops.

After obtaining a non O-A you can obtain annual extensions each year. The financial requirements are the same for extensions from a non O-A and non O, the one difference being the insurance requirement for extensions from the non O-A. It should tell you something the MANY folk have killed off their non O-A by exiting Thailand and reenter visa exempt in order to obtain a non O retirement. There is an income method available. Unless your countries embassy provides income "letter" you would need show 12 months of transfers as per @flexomike post earlier.

The funds can be in two accounts. Korat is wrong that's nothing new. As for your 60 day extension to visit wife. You don't wait till your current permit is near expiry. The days will be added to your current permission of stay. A decent immigration would have suggested the 60 day extension at same time as rejecting your 12 month extension. Assume you have not previously obtained 60 day extension since last entry to Thailand.

So you obtain a ME Non O marriage in Canada each year. Notice that you stay under 90 days each visit. Personally I would do a lease with wife's folks just to satisfy what you have previously done.

It's an interesting one. There have been reports (couple) of success in obtaining an eVisa for Thailand when in nearby country and even Thailand itself. Think recall both those were UK guys. Yet to read of no issue using that eVisa and fly eg Vietnam to Thailand. Hopefully folk that have actually done that successfully will post.

That's an issue for your insurance company. How does your insurance even come into it. You mention extension based on retirement from a non O. Insurance is not required.

You need eVisa for Vietnam USA citizen. Only option is 30 day setv. Simple process just did it. Takes 3 business days. Your tourist visa is 60 days not 90. You can obtain 30 day extension to the 60 at Thai immigration. Re appointment. If your appointment at Saigon is AM you can pick up at consulate next day PM . Visas are am apply and pm pick up next day. Are you familiar with HCMC
