Covid extensions after March 25?
DrJack54 replied to JoseThailand's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Think your plan was to obtain a non O and 12 month extension? Why did you bother with the covid extension. 4 wasted trips in my book. -
Any particular area of the Philippines. I've heard it's nice. Never been there.

OP, bumping your thread as you didn't obtain much advice. When you state came for 2 months....do you mean entered visa exempt and obtained a 30 day extension? If so you could obtain covid extensions. There is no overstay issue for your child however having a permission of stay for her is best option. In addition the school may wish to see valid permit for her. The covid extensions can buy time for travel restrictions to become less onerous and you could exit and reenter easily.. Hopefully others will post some ideas..

Thais Entering Thailand on Australian Passport
DrJack54 replied to Coota's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Normally Thai nationals could enter Thailand with expired pp. However since covid and the need for TP you are required to have a valid pp. That's my understanding. Expert will advise. @ubonjoe Edit: OP, be aware that if your children enter visa exempt they can apply for one year extension as a returning Thai. -
OP, you entered on tourist visa including daughter. Obtain covid extensions. Even though there is no overstay penality for child, obtain covid extension for her also. That gives 60 days. Hopefully by then a border run for a tv or even visa exempt is possible. Edit: op, just noticed you mention permit about to "run out" ....that means you can obtain covid extension now and possibly another prior to May 25.

You will obtain best advice in forum "visas etc to other countries" Think there is also sub forum dealing with Philippines..

Rehashed old topic of discussion. Personally I would dump it my super account with Cbus.... Minimal tax on growth is added bonus. "The figures over 10 years include the two years of negative returns from the Global Financial Crisis. The Growth (Cbus My Super) option has returned an annual average of 9.24* per cent since inception in 1984."

What are my best options? Looking for advice
DrJack54 replied to rapidwtr's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Of course it happens meaning fake marriage for visa and extension reasons. It isn't straight forward. Marriage extensions each year have requirements and in many cases involve a home visit. Yet still possible if desperate enough. -
Visa Agent In Phnom Penh?
DrJack54 replied to Brewster67's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He doesn't need to go anywhere. Appears he entered visa exempt and as a result can obtain covid extensions. Just recently continued till May 25. If someone gets a covid extension late May then that will be permit to late July. By then (and much sooner) the Thailand Pass will be gone and land borders open. Air travel far more simple.. -

It's a ripper option for longer stay. Obviously needs open borders and very little travel restrictions. That will occur soon and the METV can provide 9 month stay. Even longer with couple of visa exempt border bounces after it. -
That is not the case. You can do a TM30 for change of address to where your living. Having said that many use the agent to do the reports. Optional extra.

Reading your few posts I think doing it yourself with your own money is best suited to you. MANY use agents ongoing for years and that works well for them. Up to you.

Phuket City refuses to provide swab refund
DrJack54 replied to VictorInBKK's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't go down the lawyer path. You will end up throwing good money after bad. With covid I got ripped off by Jetstar and also AirAsia for more than the amount you mention.. Of course not directly related. Only mention it as in the end I just pushed it aside. Don't waste your energy on it. This topic perhaps for general discussion forum. -

At 43 your a pup. I came to Thailand first time 50+ so I had the retirement option. If I had come to Thailand at 43 and could afford it then 100% would have purchased a PE (elite visa 10 yr). Perhaps spend next 12 months to evaluate options. Thailand has very flexible visa options along with visa waiver. However other countries in SEA also. I was previously buying four 3 month multi entry visas to Vietnam per year. Which country is your pp. Vietnam also has visa exempt for some countries. -

That changes things a lot. Apart from the fact that you have been in Thailand a lot, you could still manage to squeeze another year. Border bounce alone gives 30+30(extension). You can do that twice. Visa exempt via air visa exempt 30+30. Tourist visa via air 60+30. Tourist visa by land border entry 60+30.
