  1. It's an address report called a TM30. Normally when you check into a hotel or whatever the owner makes a TM30 report. Done online and generates a receipt. The hotel can do a copy for you. Might not be asked for. These things vary from office to office. Do you know which office you will be applying at?
  2. It requires a TM7 form with photo. Copy of your identity page passport. Copy of visa if any. Your most recent entry stamp. Copy of your TM6 (arrival card) You should not require a TM30 but take one along if your hotel can provide receipt.. Fee 1900baht. If applying in Bangkok you will apply at Mueang Thong Thani immigration office.
  3. 30 days. OP, the non O retirement you mention is not multiple entry. To exit and re-enter any time during the 90 day permission from the non O or the 12 month extension you would need to obtain reentry permit.
  4. I would suggest he keep some form of address in HK. That could be relative etc. It's not just banking..
  5. OP, why did you even bother changing your address to Thailand? I do all my financial payments, transfers etc using online banking. Au address for banking is a relatives place. Mind you the only thing posted out would be perhaps a card. You mention ...... "Does having a retirement O visa in Thailand also mean you are deemed to be tax resident here?".... No.
  6. Yes "bank letter" as distinct from "bank statement". A bank statement would not be required at most offices. Photocopy of bank book pages cuts it. I also have an FD account and make deposit 1000 baht at same time as obtaining bank letter on the day of application for extension.
  7. As already outline many times in thread. From op very early.... "I would be travelling from the UK, so would get a 30 day visa on arrival". Clearly he means visa exempt 30 days. Ta for input.
  8. Just take your TM30 receipt. From your staying there. The io may say something like .. "Are you living this address" . Reply yes.
  9. So you state Thai bank account not required for your ongoing extensions.
  10. Don't doubt you for one moment. Here's my experience just for a laugh...... Two years back I wanted to open a new FD account with Bangkok Bank. My passport has extensions over several years from non O and I have lease (same place 10 years)! I went to big Bangkok Bank between Asoke and Nana BTS. Eventually the manager came down.... Excellent English btw. He wanted me to obtain a residence certificate or something from embassy. Here is the kicker......I had 600k in cash on me. No success. To be fair next bank I tried Kasikorn, had no problem. Most of these threads are folk needing bank account to obtain non O. Use agent if on visa exempt or TV.
  11. What visa status did your friend have? Where did he open an account and which bank?; Did he buy insurance? When did this occur? Without any of that info your post means very little.
  12. Have to disagree with on this one Tim. Bangkok Bank (as just one eg) require a residence certificate or letter from your embassy. That's if your embassy provides that. Oz for example do not. If in Bangkok would have needed to have made a 90 day report. Not possible on visa exempt. In my experience in recent times having Thai with you that has an account at that bank also accounts for little. I will stop there...anyone going down the enter with visa exempt to non O path sould 100% use an agent. Which you also did outline.
  13. Nothing dodgy at all about using agent to open bank account at all. Siam Legal is just one agent that can assist. Many others also.
  14. Not even sure what that means. Are you referring to "income letter" from your embassy. Nevermind.
  15. Up to you. The new online reporting system apparently sends you a reminder for your next 90 day report. And best if immigration office keeps their nose out. The OP now has a 2000b fine. He would have been ok if places such as Buriram didn't create confusion. 90 day report has nothing to do with annual extensions.
  16. I didn't advise to do that, it was more to buy time if needed. You need to apply for the non O marriage with at least 15 days remaining on your visa exempt permit. Obviously you have a Thai bank account and can show balance of 400k on day of application for the non O. You can apply for the extension in the last 30 days of your permit from the non O. Non O gives a 90 day stay.
  17. OP, might find some relevant info in attached thread. Also visa exempt entry is cutting it fine for your non O marriage. Be aware that you can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife or 30 extension to your visa exempt entry. Only if you need time to organize.
  18. Yes that was mentioned in same thread as Phuket office. So there's at least 2 stupid immigration offices. Most likely others also.
  19. Perhaps I'm confused. Don't quite understand your post. First up I mentioned "bank records" not bank statement. In other words photocopies of my bank book pages along with bank letter. The io would then check my balances right back to my previous extension. In particular checking that I maintained min 800k for the 3 months and not below 400k and back up to 800k+ two months prior to current application. Which immigration office.
  20. Yes you can. If you skip making an appointment then the Que for ticket A (90 day report) isn't too bad.. Plenty of parking there if your driving.
  21. Really, as posted previously, the best way is to apply for police clearance check. In Oz it's called a National Police check. A mate of mine (long time back). Had same question you post. He wanted a non O-A. He had 2 previous criminal convictions. Received a fine each time. The Police check was clean. Just apply for the thing if your after a non O-A. If clean your good to go. If not then just obtain non O retirement.
  22. That's correct provided you obtained the reentry permit at that office.
  23. Use of agent good idea in PP. I had a look for threads. Unfortunately very old. A current thread had answers more concerned with requirements to enter. Hopefully someone that has used agent in PP recently can advise. There are plenty on Google and shows 'currently open' so you could go by reviews. Problem is since covid lot of businesses have closed. Particular in tourism industry.
