  1. Could apply for 60 day extension to visit wife if you haven't already.
  2. Disappointing. Here is post from another thread. His experience yesterday at CW. @Daithi85 "OK just been to immigration applied for covid extension exactly the same requirements as before,my extension was due to finish Dec 20th, so I applied 3 weeks early so I thought I would have got the 30 days underconsderation stamp added on which would take me to January 20th. I was told to still come back again December 20th and will then get 60day." Another post same person. "Everything exactly the same as the before ,just ticked the box that says no embasy letter same as I always do,nothing about flights, everything done very quickly. The only difference was the stamp ,I still have to go back on the date my previous extension expires, the lady said when I come back I will get 60days added on then."
  3. Clearly time on hands today. Here is random return flight. Plenty available..8000baht return
  4. It's an excellent visa. Some problems do/can arise when used to live almost continuously in Thailand. Many countries have visa exempt entry. Some folk max out the METV and with 2 border visa exempt entries allowed per calendar year then by obtaining extension for each then in reality your living in Thailand. Not passing opinion on that. That's why I mentioned in previous post that "time out of Thailand" also comes into play. I don't mean a weekend. For someone to use a METV for eg 7 or 8 month stay and spend the next 4or 5 outside of Thailand then most likely can do ongoing. I was using TV when first living in Thailand. In those days you could buy a triple (think so, long time ago). My routine was to take a break in the wonderful Saigon and obtain tourist visas. Eventually the io said to me ..."why you no have retirement visa you 50 up" After that I obtained my first non O (retirement)
  5. Not my experience with Jetstar. The 2 legs are booked at same time. The date entered for first leg and then dates offered for return leg. It's all one booking. Then to final payment page.
  6. Didnt see that one. Had email from Jetstar today and they have fly Melb, Sydney to Phuket return flight free. Fares apply to various months 2022. Not of interest if flying to Oz from Thailand.
  7. Excellent news. So immigration officer mentioned/asked you nothing regards flights etc. Mind you they should not. Did you tick second box on affidavit? So your all good to at least late Feb. Great.
  8. Its not just your thread. BTW thanks for detailed info you provided. Personally I initially was excited to read Oz announcing change in restrictions for Oz citizens to enter Australia withouts the 14 day quarantine etc. Hoping to return to see family for couple of weeks. After reading the 72 page thread on the TP and other nightmare threads, I've decided to push those pans back into next year. OP, I understand your desire to see your completed new home and I can understand folk now coming to Thailand as many have family here. As for the average tourist they must be unstable to consider a holiday here in Thailand with the current hoops.
  9. https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail OP, that link is for one insurance company. Someone sent me a link that compares different insurance companies. Can't locate it. Hopefully someone will post links. Select 30 coverage. Yes your planning on non O and followed by extension. Thats irrelevant just select 30 days. 50k insurance.
  10. What does that even mean. Covid extensions are currently available and do not require any proof of flights. Again as I mentioned. Amnesty might be introduced, however that could be temporary caused by recent cluster imm office. Prior to that it was almost universally accepted that covid extensions would continue. Most likely next date would be issued through till end Jan 2022. Let's stick to the facts. IMO covid extensions will be issued untill some land borders open.
  11. They are not applying for a visa. The thread is about covid extensions. Thailand is not the only country that has provided options due to covid situation. Stick with the facts. Currently covid extensions are available. As an aside you might like to consider recent news of possible (Re) introduction on Amnesty. Possible into gazette soon. Putting that aside....covid extensions would have been continued past Nov 27. WHY?
  12. Please show this law during period of time when covid extensions are being made available to those that can meet one of the 4 criteria on affidavit to apply for covid extension. #2 being embassy not providing letter. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=727659
  13. It's not required for covid extension and those immigration offices that are asking for that are wrong. Your ..."Not anything wrong with asking for a ticket" is personal opinion not based on actual retirements
  14. Reading the threads. Current opinion (guess) is that 30 day coverage would be ok for those on extensions. Anything less might require onward flight. No reports of anyone only stamped in for insurance period when reentry permit a longer period
  15. So pretty much same everywhere. Sign form tick box...... Off topic but today arrived on Koh Samet. The info available stated requirements vax record showing 2 shots or negative test etc. As is normal. Nothing. Write name on a list and sign. In fact I signed nothing. Thinking the only serious one would be domestic flights.
  16. Yes thanks for that. I read the article from Mr Barrow and the 30 day period of insurance seemed sensible option. Would be nice if announced and set as officially that 30 day cover would be acceptable.
  17. If that turns out to be the case then I will choose this one. And Thai cannot see these basic questions when they put in place such things as TP and insurance rules. Kindergarten cops.
  18. OP, that's disappointing. A cancelled flight out or any flight is not required. Did you have the affidavit with you. So you attended CW? Which visa did you previously have? Tourist Visa? https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=727659
  19. There are folk on AseanNow now that are familiar with what insurance would be available and suit your needs. Advice will be along. I'm not across it.
  20. To edit anything that you post go to 3 dots top right of your post. The drop down has "edit option" After edit press save. Anyway your heading is fine.
  21. Just enter visa exempt. Your money in bank is already in place. Obtain a non O retirement after your here then 12 month extension couple months later
  22. Don't care who set the insurance requirements. I was asking if you knew the minimum length available for an insurance policy.
