Returning Aussie Visa requirements
DrJack54 replied to aussiexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Most likely not of concern to you, however folk need to be aware that STV is special animal. Unlike standard tourist visa and visa exempt cannot move from STV to non O based on retirement or marriage. Even cannot move to agent for non O (volunteering). Some folk that previously had STV are currently using covid extension which is about only option. -
Your missing my point. Sure have discussion about this topic if folk wish to. Just not in this particular Forum, which is more about factual here now, not guesswork re future. Currently the Covid-19 forum has threads where these things are being discussed. Here is an OP from that forum... "hi, I cannot find any information but until now it seems that no country has forced vaccination for expats to renew visa ? do you think that it will happen here "? I'm very surprised that this thread hasn't been moved to one of the chit chat forums.

Ist jab: AZ. Best 2nd jab choice: AZ or Pfizer?
DrJack54 replied to Cutty Shark's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I also have had first AZ (Bang Sue) Second jab due Oct 19. Date and time written on paperwork they handed me for first jab. Are we meant to register on some app? I read somewhere about Mor Prom app? Can't even find it. Think it's done via "LINE" Regarding this thread, personally I would stick with the AZ. -
That is a very simplistic comparison. Extensions retirement have other requirements, money in bank for example. Pretty rich for anyone using ongoing covid extensions made available by Thai government and flipping it to being about Thai are lucky to have them. I would be extremely happy with the covid extensions if I were needing them.

Thanks for report. I pretty do same as your procedure. Only difference is that I do my photocopies prior and my Kasikorn bank provides photocopy of last page to show the deposit I make same time as obtaining letter. BTW (for others) I use 2 bank accounts a FD 600K and a savings 200k+. The Kasikorn bank puts the 2 accounts on the ONE letter. 100baht. I also never have provided a TM30 dealing with CW over many years and in fact have never done a TM30. Will have the 90 report receipt just in case. Your right about that photocopy stall. Very helpful joint if anyone forgets anything. Same level as banks.

True that Melb and Sydney in 'lockdown'. What have you been doing in Thailand since your arrival. Hardly the land of the free. -
Covid Insurance with Visa Exemption
DrJack54 replied to hopefc's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Only need insurance for your stamped in period. 45 or 30. Not required for extensions. The visa exempt 45vs30 might be tied into the required quarantine period requirements. Need keep eye on that. -
Recommendation for visa agent in Bangkok
DrJack54 replied to GringoSteve's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your opinion. It's an incorrect opinion but that doesn't matter. The OP asked for agent recommendation. -
Returning Aussie Visa requirements
DrJack54 replied to aussiexpat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I was going to mention earlier that there have been many posts going back months stating that first (sometimes second) application was rejected then finally approved. Almost seems like a policy....reject first and see if they are fair dinkum. -
Tough test ahead as Thailand mulls reopening schools
DrJack54 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It's a tough one. I had reason to drive past international school Soi 105 Bang Na daily over few months when schools were open. Blimey.....the number of students and parents at end of school day looked like a premier league game. I imagine that the vast majority of schools are much smaller -
