  1. Yes. The cover period will be for the period remaining on his permit
  2. OP, I have heard nothing about what your talking about. When does your current permission of stay end?
  3. Good. Try and wait. No guarantees but chances are that soon...ish you may be able to arrive Bangkok and not have to quarantine. There may be restrictions such as remain in Bangkok province for that time and obviously fully vaccinated but financially and mentally much better than current requirements.
  4. If you return with reentry permit you will need 100k covid insurance for duration of what is left of your reentry permit
  5. Really enjoyed that article. Thanks. Bit of a Rendell fan. I was able to read it by continuing with Google account.
  6. A lot of these points made in various posts are irrelevant. There is a saying about 'Perception' posted below. So this morning I check the emails and one of my tenants is vacating. The agent can deal with that. For kill time I decided to look at a rental share app that I've used previously. The site shows places for rent and also folk looking to rent. What struck me is in the 'share accommodation' some people listed non-smoker etc. Some listed "fully vaccinated". What's that tell you about directions. Non vaccinated folk buckle up. Perception is more important than reality. If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true.”
  7. The other thing that comes with ownership is the neighbors. I rent a condo and made sure it had couple of features important to me. First up No private ownership. Along with strict management. Other requirements naturally. Why was no private ownership important? .....any takers
  8. Won't read all the replies. This is perhaps unrelated but I find interesting. I'm not anti purchasing real estate. However......... Opposite me there is new...ish development. After completion some adjoining properties did some extensions. On TOP of existing homes. See pics. Would you like to have purchased lovely new condo opposite. These monstrosities are virtually against balconies of some condos.
  9. If I had property for sale.....I wouldn't be looking for a farang that is wanting vendor terms. Generally means skint.
  10. An expert (ubonjoe etc) can correct my advice if needed.... Your obtaining a new non O in Thailand and hence the 65k transfers for couple of months would suffice.
  11. If you could push that trip back you may be able to reenter and not require quarantine having been fully vaccinated. Keep an eye on any announcements over next few weeks.
  12. OP, you have your answer from @BritTim and that covers it. I had just finished typing out similar and Tim posted. Ha. I agree currently avoid the non O-A and choose path outlined above. Guess only variation would be to enter visa exempt. As for money in the bank method, yes 800k in Thai bank in your name on the day you apply for the non O in Thailand. You will need to show that money came from overseas. Simple code on bank deposit is enough however check how to show that if using eg Wise (TransferWise) etc. Then the money will need to be in bank for 2 months on day you apply for your extension. The other option you mention is 'income method'. Yes that's an option an used by many. In Thailand some immigration offices tend to push the money in bank method. Perhaps easier for them. Opening a bank account is not as straight forward as years ago and given time frame some people have used agents to assist with that. Folk can suggest agent if required. Not expensive and quick process. Edit: bold type by accident. Don't know how to change.
  13. Helped couple of folks last year from tourist visa and visa exempt to obtain non O volunteering and 12 month extension. Most agents were around the 35k mark all up (excluding 90 reports)
  14. Interesting you signaled out "younger staff". Perhaps vaccination 'right to choose' might become huge issue in future worldwide. For example health care workers in age care facilities. etc etc Folk unvaccinated may face difficulties in future. Maybe not!
  15. In part your answer is....... "Why? Because its a much fairer system, that's why" You call that a reply. You then follow up with details of the USA system. Zero to do with what Thailand has as it's immigration policy.
  16. You will obtain a covid extension. It's an extension of your current permission of stay. You are not extending your STV.
  17. Interesting release re Bangkok seem not requiring quarantine from Oct 15. Some links available. Here is one. Courtesy @anchadian
  18. @anchadian thanks for those links re Bangkok re Oct 15. The gf was feeding that info but I wanted confirmation. Personally i'm a thumbs up guy for no quarantine required for fully vaccinated folk.
  19. Interesting. My advice is different and as result needs to be verified. In my experience an onward flight is NOT required for SETV application. In normal times when applying in person a flight INTO Thailand is required. That is all. In contrast if flying visa exempt an onward flight is (maybe) required and that is for airline when boarding. On the issue of boarding pass the airline does not look for evidence of onward flight if pp has visa to Thailand or reentry permit.
  20. Go and live in USA. What they do in that country has nothing to do with immigration rules/policy in Thailand. Your attitude is often typical. Sadly.
  21. I have been trying to be more polite on AseanNow. It's hard. Don't pull me back to the dark side Lord Vader. What if I change it to "VERY irresponsible".
