Non Imm O Application 10/6/24
DrJack54 replied to carlyai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It never has been only 800k in Thai bank account in your name only + TM There are other docs to provide. The non O retirement they stamp tomorrow will provide a 90 day stamp. This is a fresh non O retirement and can involve home inspection. Nothing new. You did not enter visa on arrival you entered visa exempt (no visa) Seems your immigration office has been extremely helpful and cut you lot of slack. You are confused with the procedure. Here are threads that explains the process https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1325266-change-from-visa-exempt-to-non-o/ -

So you obtained a non O based on marriage or retirement? What financial proof did you provide? -
Print Online TM for Visa Extension
DrJack54 replied to mark333's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You will need to apply at IT mall LakSi. I first came to Thailand already 50+. I spent first few years traveling to Saigon every month or 2. In those days you could obtain triple entry tourist visa to Thailand at Saigon Thai consulate. At some point the io took my application and stated "you live in Thailand you need retirement visa you over 50" You entered visa exempt via air. You should expect some questions with history. -
Print Online TM for Visa Extension
DrJack54 replied to mark333's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just provide the screenshot that was given to you. Assume the extension is 30 day extension to the permit from your tourist visa entry.. If so you will attend CW for your extension. Are you 50+ -

Non-Imm O Visa Question
DrJack54 replied to carlyai's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
If you enter Thailand on a tourist visa or visa exempt you can apply for a non O at your immigration office. If you enter tourist visa use TM86 If enter visa exempt use TM87 Note: if doing this in Bangkok you apply at CW if entered with tourist visa and at IT mall LakSi if entered visa exempt. -
It's not the law. TM30 law was changed in June 2020. TM30 reporting is not required in the example you outlined.

He stated the friend is short of funds. You mentioned agent... Any agent will only do hand holding for extension based on marriage. They can avoid the financial requirements if extension is based on retirement. Regarding funds for marriage extension and being short, he could obtain 60 day extension to visit wife and use the extra time to season the 400k

OP, you of course realize that agents can assist with obtaining non O and subsequent extensions in two ways. Firstly by side stepping financial requirements etc and the other is simply hand holding exercise. One option is at some point exit Thailand and reenter visa exempt. With that 30 day stamp you have time to obtain non O (marriage) at your immigration office with or without agent. You require 400k in Thai bank in your name only. Funds in the bank on the day you apply. That provides 90 day permit. When funds have been in bank minimum 2 months obtain 12 month extension. It's not difficult. Not wanting to deal with immigration is childish excuse. Process fully explained in attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1315828-visa-exempt-to-90-day-non-o-spouse-visa-conversion-in-thailand/

Thinking your thread is a cover for a rant about tax issues. In one post you refer to obtaining non immigrant visa "here in Canada"..... So are you even in Thailand. Ways to stay in Thailand for 6 months has been covered often.. https://aseannow.com/topic/1325688-come-to-thailand-one-time-a-year-and-stay-for-6-months/

90 day online question
DrJack54 replied to Happy happy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP issue resolved. Thread closed -
As mentioned above not a non O-A. Extensions from a non O-A would require medical insurance if based on retirement. If your extensions are based on marriage then insurance not required. So to be clear...what visa did you originally have? A non O-A or non O and what are extensions based on marriage or retirement
-
Bumping your thread as no reply. Immigration pretty much just want to see a TM30 when he applies for extension. You mention friend has been in Thailand "for few months" Which immigration office will he use and what is his current stamp based on...tourist visa?
-
You referred to 800k in OP. Most simple option is to remain on annual extensions (retirement) using money in bank method. Obtain a reentry permit and limit your time spent in Thailand to whatever you want under 180days total. imo crazy plan as you mention wife, friends etc.. Options visa wise....one would be METV. Take a chill pill imo.
-
OP, age? Assume over 50 as you referred to 800k. You are jumping the gun imo. Perhaps wait till any tax come into place
